What a disappointment, I expected to see the damn update and we still have nothing.

I got in touch with the GOG support and they replied that they are aware of the problem, but that unfortunately, they don’t have information from Capcom regarding the release of those patches here

Pawns rental is still broken. Missing reports, not getting Rift Cristals, gifting and reviews not working, "Accesssing Server" loop crash.

Do you get ther “Connection failure” error when first loading your save?

I am getting rarely “Connection failure” and only when talking to Riftsone inside the Rift.

When loading the game or after resting in the Inn the "Accessing Server" progress bar just hangs forever.
When talking to a wandering NPC Pawn in the wilds I am getting blank conversation window and "Accessing Server" icon loop.

In both cases, I can see the animations but I am unable to do anything. Can not quit to the main menu.
I have to manually shut down the game process in windows task manager.
I have tried to disconnect from the internet during the "Accessing Server" loop to force the game to go to offline mode. Sometimes it works but usually, it causes the game to crash - "DDDA.exe has stopped working - Close program".

It's not like it happens every single time but often enough to make the online mode unplayable.

The GOG release is badly implemented. Steam was fixed in 2016, unfortunately, the fix never came to GOG.

I found a solution to my "Connection Failure" errors and it's been solved for good... I never have any issues with anything anymore, it all just works

Basically you have to run your save file through this command line tool and it resets the online pawn stuff which fixes the Connection Failure errors for good

General steps for GOG:

1. Copy the DDsavetool.exe to the same location your save is... for GOG it's in:
(home)\AppData\Local\GOG.com\Galaxy\Applications\49987265717041704\Storage\Shared\Files\DDDA.sav
(So you'll then have two files in that folder: DDDA.sav and DDsavetool.exe)

2. Open a command prompt (doesn't need Admin privileges) and navigate to the above directory

3. Run the command: DDsavetool.exe -reset DDDA.sav

And that's it... it leaves everything else in the save file alone except for resetting the online pawn stuff which is what gives you the "Connection Failure" errors

Do yourself a favor and backup your existing save before you mess with it, but I've found the tool 100% reliable... I originally used it to get my PS3 save of 45 hours onto PC using that tool

There's other neat things you can do with the tool... the -u command will unpack your file to a human readable XML file so you can actually see all the stats, checkpoints, all that... you can even tweak some of those and use the -r command to repack the file back to the .sav format

Give that -reset feature a try on a copy of your save and see if it helps with your Connection Failure warnings

The server is buggered in more ways than 1. Just spent 2 hours killing Ur and was never recorded in the hall of fame. Its in Grace so feel free.

I think i remember asking GOG support back in 2017 if they'd get the latest updates for this game and iirc they said they're working on it but no ETA. 2 years later still nothing...

Does GOG still not have the latest version for this?
