Have you tried disabling your antivirus? Some antivirus software can be the cause this error.

FlynnArrowstarr: now that the latest patch is out (1.0.252) the editor (GOG installer version 2.7.0.13) now gives me a repeating error at launch
The editor will need to be updated. I checked on that a week ago and was told it would be updated as soon as possible, but not how soon possible was.

Yeah. That and re-installing, checking the paths are correct, trying different compatibility modes, etc.

Thanks, Raze. I'll wait (im)patiently for the update. =)

Ooh, that reminds me. I recently spotted Divinity: Original Sin for sale in a local store. I only mention it because it's quite literally the first time I'd seen any of the Divinity series for sale locally. Very cool and I'm very tempted to pick it up to have a physical copy (even if it's tied to Steam).

Edit: Not that I have anything against Steam, just that the disc is somewhat superfluous once you install and activate the game with Steam. Still, I did the same with Fallout New Vegas and Borderlands 2, so why not?

Yeah, if you haven't read my D:OS Initial Impressions thread, I've been enjoying the heck out of this since it launched on GOG. Easily one of the best games I played last year. =)
