iwayne1688: We need hotfix of 9969 version. There's no standalone patch. I have to re-download all the 45GB files??? That's crazy! What is going on with GOG or Larian??
Tell me about it, last time i installed the game the size was 22gb.

With so many other people the reason I started to use GOG in the beginning was to be free from using any digital distribution platform software.
But seeing this problem occurring again and again with bigger/newer titles, is starting to push myself away from using GOG.
Release stand-alone patches as there is very clearly people still want them.
I would LOVE to keep supporting CDP, but its really hard to at this point as its clear they want to move onto a more steam/origin oriented way..

But being forced to download 50gb every time a patch is released is just not doing it.

Changelog for Hotfix 3.6.29.1090 - Slightly smarter Golems (added 05 September 2018):

Hi Everyone,

We have sent out a hotfix for the following issues:

* Added a Definitive Edition tag to GM campaigns published in the new version since they are not compatible with Classic Edition.
* Fixed a blocking issue related to saving or opening menus right before a companion initiated a dialog with you. * * * * Loading the save would block the player.
* Fixed a crash related to status change and loading a save
* Fixed a crash related to changing equipment (when switching characters in character creation for example)
* Fixed an issue with the meat golems in Fort Joy Castle. They now correctly attack their prison doors again

We apologize for any inconvenience these issues may have caused. Please keep reaching out to us via forums or support if you are still having issues with the game.

Thanks,

Larian Crew

Simple Fix:

1) Install Galaxy

2) Update through Galaxy

3) Wait until Larian finalizes all patches for the game

4) Then download the manual backup copy of the final game version once GOG prepares it

--All such problems you mention become a thing of the past. Complaining that manual patching doesn't work like Galaxy works is continually hammering square peg into round hole and then wondering why it never works...;)

Other developers don't seem to have any issue providing us non-Galaxy downloads for individual patches. What exactly is the excuse here?

Nope, there's someone which doesn't care about to give offline patches.

The game doesn't require at all the client, installing the client just for patching is ridiculous.

Especially if you consider the prior version (non definitive one, had patches)

The difference of treatment, just because its more easy (i don't say the contrary) is simply not acceptable. I accept delay & drawback for the offline version , but not the actual situation which each patch means to d/k 45GB. It was OBVIOUS the game should need patch after the new release....a game of this size need indivual patches , offered separatly...this is so obvious too.

whatever; i sent a support itcket to Larian & GOG.

GOG support, informed me the person in charge are now informed

Larian support; well, nothing....guess Steam version is more conveniant...for them , considering their actcity of the subforum of the game.

All customers should treated equally, especially when GOG said the client would optionnal (except for MP in some games and others online features), righjt now it's really not the case.

Larian and GOG obviously don't give a shit, new full download patch today AGAIN!!!!!

If they wanted to infuriate and aggravate their customers, they are doing and extraordinarily good job!!!

Can't tell for Larian : no answer so far

For GOG, they are working on the technical issue, still with multiples patches since the definitive edition, except conctating the support, they didn't say a word , and i'm not surprise,

so ..i'm almost certain of a future offline patch but not certain for all patcnes uploaded on Galaxy will get their counterpart

There's the problem which explains the size of the installer ; both versions are present in the same installer : you select either the classic version or the definitive one from the menu screen....installer has almost doubled in size :s

Still wondering whiy they didn't opted like the first DOS.;;;sigh

hopefully the french support is really nice, but it's only the support not those who package the installers....a little official annoucement would have been appreciated :-/ , is it too much to ask ?

Just refund, devs dont give a shit about you as consumer it seems like. Terrible practises.

Gog also doesn't give a dam. stop supporting it.

As backer it's not possible.... from the support as i said it's a technical problem; but no insight what's the problem...

and the game got a update again, so yeah basically devs don't care about the offline installers

since they upload files on the steam & galaxy servers only, it's gog team who packages the offlone installers, I would rather say GOG priority is Galaxy the rest is just a "nuisance", but since they told there will be offline installers & patches (even if i can wait, the actual situation without any real explanation is unacceptable).

As consumers we shouldn't be wondering who's at fault here, both Larian and GOG messed up and something needs to be done. This is not a great way to support a product from GOG standpoint, nor is it a great advertisement to Larian as a studio.
