I've posted this link in a couple of threads, but decided to make a new topic so it's easier to find.
It's at the bottom of the post.

After v3.0.150.188 kept CTDing on loading any save, I resorted to finding a Torrent, but most were damn repacks, and I was only willing to use the original GOG files.

Only ones I could find were of the original releaase
All the patch uploads were missing the first patch, as though it didn't exist.
I eventually found it as a torrent upload.
Having kept a close eye on the updates, it was definately never released as a "Classic Patch".
So I'm guessing it came from Galaxy, or maybe even have never been officially released.

It was listed as
patch_divinity_original_sin_2_3.0.141.716_(null)_to_3.0.141.822_(null).exe

Two anomolies caused me concern.
The (null), I assume that's usually the galaxy download number, so it's strange to have a null entry.
Unlike all other patches, the Modified date in file properties showed the time I downloaded it, not GOG's upload date.

So I kept looking, and found a Divine Ascension Edition torrent, which had the patch, with the original release.
Again the Modified date in file properties showed the time I downloaded it, and the (null) download number.

My Comodo Antivirus cleared it , and I've successfully updated the game to this patch
patch_divinity_original_sin_2_3.0.146.814_(15494)_to_3.0.146.969_hotfix2_(15543).exe

Later patches I've had my charcter disappear, leaving only a Blue Pyramid to show she existed
Those are direct from GOG, though. So I've kept rolling back, to the last version that I can use.

The other patches have come directly from GOG, or other users on this forum.
I've checked numerous sources, to get hashchecked verification of each of the files.
To the best of my knowledge these are all untouched GOG releases.

I've added a QuickSFV multi file hashcheck, and the tool to use it, which is useful for checking many files at once.
This will confirm the downloads match what I uploaded, and stop errors due to bad downloads.

Anyway with the full disclosure as to the source of the first patch, heres the full sequence of removed patches.
While GOG's providing a patch, it won't be included, I'll add them as they get removed.
There's others doing this as well, and they can add links to this topic, and i'll include them in this post.
Between us we should be able to snag all the patches, and ensure everyone can update or, roll back to an older version as required

{EDIT}

I've run out of room (15 GB max) on the Google Drive account, as a result I've had to move the Engine folder to a separate Google Drive account.

As of today 22nd ‎‎March ‎2018, These are the current files GOG is providing, which I don't upload, as usual.

The Divinity Engine 2

Additional note on the engine versions supplied
As far as I know v3 was never available on GOG, I assume an error was corrected for the Steam release, before GOG ever received that version, unless someone else can provide the GOG release I missed.

That early patch you mention was here.

I bought the game a few days before release, and checked the forums everyday just for random ideas on party builds, etc.

Good thing I did, as the patches started coming pretty quick, and I noticed they were not being kept on my store page very long.

Since then I check everyday.

I have every patch since day 1 on my pc, I'm just clueless as how to share them for those that missed them ... PLUS I want to make sure I'd only be sharing these patches with ppl who truly missed them as opposed to someone who pirated the game and doesn't have access to new patches - which by some threads I've seen here about patches and complaints related seems to be the unspoken case.

I'm surprised you brought up torrents here. I sincerely hope you did buy the game and did not pirate it - GOG can easily check your store page.

I'm not accusing you ... just saying.

Also, there is a very good thread here about all the patches and their order simply called "changelog".
This is really starting to look like GOG is taking the piss...

After the last Patches/Hotfixes didn't result in the older ones being deleted I thought GOG finally learned their lesson. But noooo, they continue to delete old patches and because I didn't CHECK EVERY FRIGGIN' DAY FOR PATCHES I missed the one before 954.

Thank you for the doing GOG's job by making the older patches avaible to us victims of GOG's ignorance.

And you GOG, you are a damn let down and your "customer service" seems to be a bunch of ignorant people only being able to give copy & paste answers instead of addressing the problem at hand. You are asking for me to rate the "customer service" received but do you even care?

UhuruNUru,
Thank you very much for doing GoG's work.

@GoG: as users have to resort to ways like this (or download the whole 23GB game again) sooner or later malware might be spread very efficiently. Thank you for supporting #Petya and friends.

Also, there is a very good thread here about all the patches and their order simply called "changelog".
First as an owner, I have no worries about using any torrents, if my games broken by an update.
My accounts private, but GOG know I own, 293 games.
However I've uploaded a couple of pics just for you.
Not sure if attachments will appear, so here's an Imgur Link
GOG Lirary Pics

Simple fact that GOG's DRM free, means they accept that every GOG game will be pirated.
Honestly though, that happens less than you'd think.
Cracking groups get no credit for uploading DRM free games, only those they have to crack.
Pirates tend to trust known cracker groups uploads over random dudes on the net.
Witcher 2 was DRM free on GOG, and encrypted on US Disc versions.
The cracked version was the one most pirates, torrented, not the GOG release, because they trust known crackers.

As a GOG user, all you can do is not provide the full game files, or the latest patch, still available on GOG.
Which is exactly what I have done.
It won't stop it being pirated, but you are not handing it to them on a plate.
In all honesty, pirates don't come here to get the games, they have torrent sites for that.

I never use torrents for games I don't own, except when I can't legally buy them anywhere.
I even got Homeworld Cataclysm on disc, and had to get that transferred to a ISO, as I don't even have a disc player.
I have no problem using cracks to avoid using Uplay/Origin/Steam Clients, but still buy the games first if I do that.

The only reason I have for doing it on GOG is because GOG has removed old game versions, and patches.
I simplty don't have enough Storage,to keep every version of 400+ games, and around 10,000 mods.

As for providing the files, there's plenty of hosing sites offering upto 50 GB of free storage.
Mega.nz = 50GB Free (Secure and private, I usually use this, but have filled it up already)
I'd use Mega if I was you.

Google Drive = 15 GB (Insecure, privacy issues, don't use for stuff you want kept private

Others exist, most with less GB, some are file size limited, others time limited.
Comparison of file hosting services - Wikipedia

{EDIT}
I'll happily replace my link with one fully sourced from GOG, if you upload it.
Just that first patch woul;d be enough, most of the other links are from another users GOG upload, with last 4 or 5 being my GOG versions, I'd like to compare the file I have provided with a known GOG one.
Most of us never even saw that first patch, I was also a wait fror review, then buy the alpha buyer, that kept watch for them, but I do have to work.

Plus thanks for pointing out Changelog Thread, I was using the Official Changelog link on the Store page.
That misses some patches out.

I've added the chanlogs to the ODT File.
You can use Libre Office to view it, and it's a full Office suite, like MS Office, but free, and open source.

Unfortunately, though the Forum Thread may have all the Changelogs Larian provided, these patches are missing

Only thing that worked was rolling back to the previous patch that worked, and that's what instigated this thread.
I had not kept the old versions, and resorted to finding a Torrent, as explained in first post

Here's the details
This is the last patch I've installed on my current profile, I can confirm my Character reappeared with this patch.
patch_divinity_original_sin_2_3.0.146.814_(15494)_to_3.0.146.969_hotfix2_(15543).exe

My saves have had different issues with the last three patches, and I've not even tried yesterday's patch.
CTD on save loading
patch_divinity_original_sin_2_3.0.146.969_hotfix2_(15543)_to_3.0.150.188_(15911).exe

Game runs, but Main Character Vanishes, leaving Blue Pyramisd behind
patch_divinity_original_sin_2_3.0.150.188_(15911)_to_3.0.150.760_(15976).exe
patch_divinity_original_sin_2_3.0.150.760_(15976)_to_3.0.150.954_(16069).exe

That's one of the main reasons GOG should keep providing the old game version + patches, so you can roll back if you get issues.
Plus it allows those with poor and/or limited internet to update using each patch, and not be forced into another full game download.

So though I have encountered problems, I still recommenf you update.
If you do have issues, you can just delete the game, and reinstall the game back to the last working patch.
If your old saves worked with that patch before updating, they will work with it after a reinsatall.

Manual Save before Updating
Warning, new saves made while trying to get the update to work, may not work.
It's always best to do a full manual save before updating, and you can always go back to that afterwards.
Autosaves, and quicksaves can be overwritten, manual saves can't.

Delete Warning for Mod users
Delete everything in the game folder, except the "Data" Folder.
Inside the "Data" Folder. Only Delete the "*.pak" Files, and the "Sound" folder.

Leave every other folder, and all their contents alone, these all belong to mods, and the DOS2 Editor if installed.
As a guideline, I have an heavily modded game, and these are my mods folders
Cursors
Localization
Mods
Public

Plus the editor uses these folders (Note "Mods", and "Public" are common, and used by both the Editor, and Mods).
Editor
Mods
Projects
Public

If you make a mistake you can simply reinstall the mods, doing the above, saves you that effort, with non PAK mods.
I'm not aware of a mod that adds files to the "Sound" folder, but if you have one, it's probably easier to just reinstall that one mod than preserve it's files.

{EDIT}
All these files have filled up the free 15GB Google provides, and I need more space for emails as well.
So I'm moving the Engine files over to a second GMail account's Google Drive
Only v3 of the engine is missing, and as far as I'm aware, that one was never uploaded to GOG.

As of this post update on 22nd March 2018, GOG currently provides

Latest Patches
patch_divinity_original_sin_2_3.0.171.819_(18470)_to_3.0.180.158_(19075).exe

Hey UhuruNUru,

Thanks so much for your procedure, I was also checking all my mods to make double sure it wasn't a conflict there.

I play a heavily modded game and went through loading each one with a new game to see if my custom character would appear (if no custom character was created at the beginning I was guaranteed the disappearing character bug in saves) and eventually I narrowed it down to the leadership range extension mod. In previous updates this mod worked fine but something in the newer versions broke it.

Currently still running about 15 mods and the second latest version. GOG gets stuck in an update loop now... might have to re-install to get that working again, not sure if I can be bothered after all that mod compatibility testing!

You have to be careful with the mods. I only had 3 - faster movement, free pet pal for all characters, and sneak in battle costing 2 points instead of 4 (great for glass cannon rogues and archers with the guirilla talent).

One of them had unintended effects (Fane had his shapeshifter mask right away when I recruited him).

Many of the mods were made many patches ago and can create problems with the changes the patches made.

To report any bug the game really has to be mod-free, so you can be certain it is in fact a game bug.

Just saying from my own experiences - example: I think, at least in part, the "faster movement" mod contributes to the lagginess I experience after act 1.

Well I tried loading the game without any of my mods active, and still had no character, and as my only aim was to play with my current save, never tested further, and just went for the rollback.
Onve you have the files, reinstalling is quite simple, as aim is simply to restore things to your modded game, with last workingg patch.

Additionally I moved, and now install all pak mods in the Ducuments Folder
Users\{YOUR USER NAME GOES HERE}\Documents\Larian Studios\Divinity Original Sin 2\Mods

There's no practical difference, as game simply merges both Game, and Documents Mods folders to create thein game mods list.
Not seen any evidence that using both affects load order, but there's no need to have pak mods in both locations either.

The game created folder
..\Divinity - Original Sin II (GOG)\Data\Mods\DivinityOrigins_1301db3d-1f54-4e98-9be5-5094030916e4
is always created in the game folder, so no need to move that, though it's always an empty folder in my game.

Deleting the game files is much easier than the explanation may suggest.
Step by Step
1 In Game folder, select only the Data Folde
2 Invert Selection (Classic Style explorer it's in the Edit Menu, and Ribon Style Explorer it's in the Home Tab)
3 Delete selection, leaving only Data Folder behind
4 In Data Folder select all files (All have.pak extension), and the "Sound" folder.
5 Delete Selection, which just leaves the mods, (plus edior folders if installed)
6 Job done, in a few clicks

Just reinstall game, GOG installer should automatically select the last instasll location, which is what you want.
This is because you didn't use it's uninstaller, but I always make sure by clicking options, as I never install games in default.

Actually even mod free, doesn't guarantee, the mods changes aren't preserved in the game.
The missing Player Character I experienced is such an example.
I use theis mod, so I can rec ruit all the Origin Companions, with my Custom Character.
Expanded Party Size by SirButtsington

Even when I removed all mods, to see if that brought back my character, all six companions still showed up.
So even though I wouldn't have been able to recruit anty mercenary companions, the origin ones I already had were baked into the save.

There's the problem, removing mods doesn't remove saved changes, and when the bug reported is one of loading a save it should be reported as a modded save.

Asa heavy mod user, I don't expect any Devs help fixing my game, or even mod aurhors.
I'm fully aware that removing a mod, can remove the issue, but that doesn't mean ii was the cause.
Another mod can create the bug, and the one you removed, was simply affected by that bug.

A common occurance is older mod A, reappllying a vanilla bug that's been patched since the mod was created.
Mod B, made after the patch is then affected by mod A, because it expected the patched fix to be applied.
Though both mods were made correctly, Mod B appears to be the one at fault to the user just installing it.
Mod A, they've used forever, and it's always worked fine for them, as they never encountered the bug before.

Simple fact is modding is a messy business, and only you can fix your heavilly modded game, as only you is likely to have that setup.
So what I tend to post are the solutions to problems, not complaints about them.

Sometimes for DOS2, that means using
Norbyte's Export Tool v1.7.2
To unpack the mod, Find a bug, or often merge two stat mods, that edit the same entries.
Then repack my custom changes for use in my game.
If It's actually a bug, I'd report my solution on the mod page, for anybody to use.

Other times, it's not a bug fix, but a workaround that gets you back to playing that broken save.
This rollback solution for vanishing Player Characters one such workaround.
It warrants posting, as it gets people playing again, until a proper solution appears.

If you truly want to help bugfix a mod (or Vanilla game).
You have another copy of the game, with only the minimum requirements for what you're testing.
Most mod "bugs", are actually compatability issues, between multiple mods, rather than actual bugs.

While I don't mind posting guides to help others fix their games, most of my knowledge, comes from fixing my own game first.
I also have extensive modding experience with many games, and much of that knowleadge can work with multiple games.

DOS2 uses an improved, DOS/DOS EE engine
DOS/DOS EE is very similar to this, but biggest improvement, is often condsidered a downside to DOS2.
DOS2 uses an improved version of DOS1's engine, so lots of it are the same.

DOS2 has long first time loading times, after any mod changes. Which is a pain, and often complained about.
With more mods, you get ever longer first time loads, when you change your mods.
Hour long First time loads are normal for my setup, compared to playing loads of about 30 seconds.

DOS1 never had this problem, but DOS2 is actually a vast improvement.
With DOS1, you couldn't even load a save after changing pak mods, you had to start a new game, if you changed the mods.

In my opinion, that was why DOS1 modding was so neglected, nobody used new mods, after starting
Nexus Mods
Divinity: Original Sin 97 files
Divinity: Original Sin - Enhanced Edition 3 files
Divinity: Original Sin 2 = 222 files

Even on the abomination that is Steam Workshop (See spoilered Abomination Rant)
Steam Workshop
Divinity: Original Sin 34 files
Divinity: Original Sin - Enhanced Edition 19 files
Divinity: Original Sin 2 = 893 files

Those numbers say it all, Long first time loading of saves, is much less of a pain than no loading of saves.
I would heavily mod DOS1/EE, given the poor selection, but once I started the game, I stopped modding completely.
With DOS2 I add, and more importantly update mods, nearly every day.

Abomination Rant
Abomination, because of forced updates, and you must own the game on Steam to use mods hosted there.

Abomination, when devs incorporate the Workshop into the games,
DOS2 included, and I'd say the same if GOG had a Mod hosting feature, mods on stores is always bad for modding.

Abomination, because it was created for monetising Skyrim.
Thankfully the fact it was utter trash, led to SkyrimNexus Domination, Instead of the Workshop as was intended
Delaying paid mods, until, they wanted to trial it for Fallout 4, when Skyrim became a sacrificial guinea pig.

Abomination, because you don't "Download" mods, you "Subscribe" to them.
That was intended to acclimatise you to when have to pay a subscription, not the one time fee they eventually used.
The intent was blatently clear on the day it launched, if the Workshop had Dominated Skyrim modding,
Quickly putting the Skyrim Nexus out of business, as Bethesda/Valve execsutives stupidly believed it would.
A paid mods systemwould have quickly followed, within months, not years later for Fallout 4's release.

Abomination, because the Workshop is actually the worst ever system for a mod hosting site,
Valve's sweetner deals tempt devs to incorportate it into their games.
Without that the site that woulld have become a modding backwater long ago.
Spoilers have stopped working it seems.

i can't thank you enough for putting this thread up UhuruNUru. they put up two updates in one day and of course the first of the two got immediately scrubbed, so had to start with full downloads all over again. it blows me away GOG is still doing this on a title getting so many updates, yet there are other games in the library that have had multiple updates on their download page for ages.
i had sent a request to GOG to give previous updates at least a few months grace, but they just replied that i can use Galaxy to back date, which is pointless as i don't use Galaxy for playing the games (i don't like Galaxy except for downloading games.) they completely missed my point anyway i think.
the most irritating part is it's such a small thing to ask they fix
