When I was in uni a few years ago, I was shown a game called "Determinance" which has built on the control ideas of the great by die by the sword :)
I wouldn't call it perfect but it's multiplayer based and I'd say worth a look if your a fan of DBtS.

With all these severed limbs and cut heads DbtS allways reminds me legendary fight with black knight from Monty Python's Quest for the Holy Grail :D
It would be sin not to mention similar games, which I found very good too: Severance - Blade of Darkness and Rune Halls of Valhalla uh and Drakan: Order of the Flame!

I agree and it's good to see you here, mate. It's Frankie The Patrician[PF] form the Bludr's Steam group.
Those three are good games as well and should be here ASAP :)

It is funny you mention that. Although I have yet to play the game, I was checking into YouTube game play videos earlier to see if I would like it. During some of the fighting, one opponent got his leg cut off. He got up and hobbled around on it still fighting. The only thing I could think was the famous quote of "It's just a flesh wound."
Made me laugh, and I may have to give it a try just because of that. It looked silly, but in a good way!
I've got to look into Determinance now. Too bad it's a payware game for the full version, and I just spent a lot of money here on GOG.com!
Yeah, I'd be pretty suprised if somone hasnt already made a sound pack with the holy grail! that would be awesome..... I'll have to look into making one other wise :)
Although the original sounds, with a man getting a leg lopped off and shouting "bloody hell" are pretty cool too :D
its good to see so many interested in this game, may even be able to sort out a few net games....

ah cool, glad you liked it :)

it may be to do with the flying around thing! always found that pretty strange

Sorry, I meant to say that Severance is great; I've played through it several times.
Since it was published by Codemasters, maybe it'll appear on this site someday?
Might get DBtS, since I only played it briefly years ago.
I found the swordplay in Mount & Blade to be quite reminiscent of Die By the Sword.
I played the DBTS' skirmish mode a lot back in days...I especially like playing against the red alter ego of the main character, his taunts were golden!

I spent most of my time messing around with the skirmish mode, I barely even touched the quest mode!

Sad, but true for me as well. I wasn't able to get past one part of the quest mode, when you get tiny and have to find a way out. I had no internet access/nobody to ask, so I ended there.

That's EXACTLY where I was at when I quit!! You're running around in all those mine tunnels or something and have to shrink down! I'll probably give the quest mode another shot once I order it on GOG.
Did you guys ever play Draconus: Cult of the Wyrm on the Dreamcast? It was sort of a sequel to Die by the Sword (same developers and general gameplay). I didn't really care for it, but I had so many DC games at the time, I think it just got lost in the shuffle. I'd like to try it again, especially if I get hooked on DBtS again!

Nope, haven't owned Dreamcast
