Hello, I'm trying to plan LAN with some friends and we're all on the same connection but unable to create a game together. What am I missing here?

While I don't know what you have tried a solution that worked for me and my brother was that we used Hamachi to get around this.
To play LAN, one of you (host) has to go into Multiplayer -> Local Area Network (IPX), select your character, Create game.
All others must go into Multiplayer -> Local Area Network (IPX), select their characters, then wait a moment and the game named as the host's character should appear under "Create game".

- Make sure all of you have disabled firewalls and/or added exceptions for Diablo.exe and ipxwrapper.exe.
- Make sure all of you are playing the same version (all DX "improved" or all classic)
- If the others cannot see your game, you can try running ipxwrapper.exe and setting the primary interface to your network card.
@Kaldurenik - So I attempted to set this up, still not working but I'm wondering if I missed something? I've been trying to look up more guides. Till then... Still unable to get it to work. Both PCs are connected to the Hamachi connection though. Do you have Discord or something? Jester Demi#0001

@Realpsojed - I tried this way, still got nothing. Thank you though. :(

Has everyone joined the Hamachi network you created? I just tested Hamachi this week, it works. I was able to see and join a game with my laptop on a different internet connection than my desktop.
In Hamachi, you can right-click the other peers and use Diagnose.
You need to have all four checks ending with OK. I have attached an example when my PC is configured properly, but their PC is not, so it fails saying their inbound traffic is blocked. Commonly this is caused by the firewall.

Another issue is when Hamachi doesn't install the VPN network correctly. I had to reinstall Hamachi before it would see another PC on the virtual network.

Screenshot attached of what network adapter should be showing.

You might want to try DevilutionX, it has support for modern IP networks.

I pretty much worked on it just to not have to mess with Himachi.
