Hi,

I played the "new" single player version for a few hours with zero problems. Now I wanted to start a Battle.net multiplayer character so I made all the firewall exceptions and port-forwardings etc. only to spend 2 hours trying to start the Classic version to no avail.

The game changes my resolution as if starting up but then it just "crashes" back to desktop like nothing happened. No error or anything. Then I started scouring the web for a solution and made all the DEP exceptions and compatibility changes. Still nothing.

I am running a DELL LATITUDE E7450 Laptop with Windows 10 Pro 64-bit

Looks like your laptop comes with no graphics card; am I right? Is it possible to update the drivers (motherboard and graphics) or is Dell obstructing that? Some laptop manufacturers only let you update via them and then usually are happy to put out none to two updates and then leave you in the cold. Try that and report back!

I have the latest DELL drivers (January 2019) and I cannot install the newest (March 2019) from Intel website. Something about unknown signature so probably DELL blocking the update? I have this covered.

With DevilutionX mod the classic works well but I don't know if it supports Bnet since the menus are modified as well...

Almost.... Everything went fine until the last step. I get this (see pic)

EDIT: Tried again and it installed ok. Go figure... Let's see if it let's me run the classic now.

Updating my Intel HD Graphics had no impact unfortunately. My issue remains unsolved :(

Where exactly do you mean? During the update? Game settings?

In Windows but then, they ought to be enabled as you are abe to run the other one, I presume.

It would be better if someone who has GOG's version of the game on the same Windows as the OP to help.
