Hello!

I was reading the game manual and it refers to food as item; after I gave a brief look at a walkthrough and I saw that the player collected food as well.
So my questions are:

1) what is the food good for?
2) do you need to manage your character survival? (food, drink, etc ...)
3) is the same in DEUS EX GOTY?

Thanks in advance!

Roberto

1) Food will restore small amounts of health.
2) No, you don't need to manage survival. You don't have to consume food or drink at all.
3) Yeah, it works pretty much the same. In both games, food and drink restore small amounts of health, but they don't compare to a medkit or a regeneration augmentation. I think there is one big difference though - in Invisible War, alcoholic drinks hurt you instead of heal you.
Also, food items in Invisible War heal you much more than they do in Deus Ex. In Invisible War, eating a few food items can bring you to full health.

The guy above is correct.

Sound like you haven't played any of the games. You should buy DX1 before 2.

BTW I have read (I don't remember where) that sometime you can give food at a NPC maybe to have him/her help you ... but I wasn't sure about the player character survival so I posted here,

There are a few NPC's in Deus Ex that will help you for food or drinks.
I might be wrong, but I don't recall any moments in Invisible War where you can give people food or drinks.

Thanks for the solution and for this answer as well!

I think you should just start to play them without any knowladge. Part of the fun is the discovery and exploration (at least in the first game, the second is much more linear)

Just play it, and get lost in a world of pure awesomeness.

He didn't realize that food heals in a video game; without a guide he's going to be crushed.
