After installing the gog.com version origin seems to have found it on the hard disk and now every time I open origin it tries to update Dead Space. Of course I don't want this as it might introduce some DRM into the game. Do you know any way to stop this? As it is right now it asks me to accept some EULA's for some runtime environments in order to install the update so that is at least some protection. But it would just be a lot easier if I could open Origin (for any other EA game I might want to play) and not have to worry about getting crap introduced to my gog.com games.

No. Why would I? I have at least thirty games there?

That is quite a lot of hassle to go through to fix this. If it behaves like steam it would mean that I would have to reinstall any games requiring origin in order to *maybe* fix this... It's not *that* big a problem.

When you uninstall and re-install the origin software, you are just doing that to the Origin software.

The games remain on your pc.

However you can't play the games without logging in to Origin.

You dont have to uninstall and re-install the games though.
