On Steam it says this game got an update in January and March. The last one on the GOG changelog is December 2016.

So is Darksiders Warmastered on GOG as up to date as the Steam version or not?

Here is the Changelog from Steam:

PATCH #5: New Video Player, better controller support, Freeze/Crash fixes, Comic & Soundtrack added

Patch #5
Changelog
6th January 2017
- Videoplayer rewrite: Takes less CPU (up to three times), more stable synchronization
- Fix for freeze when skipping videos right away
- Fixed application crash on startup due to virtual memory problems
- Better DualShock 4 controller detectopm (newer models are working now)
- Xbox One controller users see Xbox One button prompts (doesn't work in some setups with multiple controllers connected)
- Added better diagnostic code to get rid of the remaining crash problems
- Added Comic & Soundtrack

Happy new year!

Patch #6: Chinese, Native Steam controller support and better handling of D3D errors

Patch #6
Changelog
8th March 2017
- Added Simplified Chinese localization
- Added Native Steam controller support
- D3D errors don't crash the game but show a message box with the proper error code

Please note :
When you use Steam Controller, only button prompts for the actual Steam Controller will be shown, never prompts for Dual Shock 4 or other controllers supported by Steam Big Picture. You might end up not seeing button prompts at all if using Dual Shock 4 or other controller via Steam Big Picture.

If you install it directly through GOG Galaxy it shows a different version number, which doesn't seem to be available via the backup download. I guess backup version gog-5 references to patch #5, so a newer Galaxy direct install could be patch version #6. I'm currently downloading it, but it will take a while, then I can check the version.

Edit: Main menu says CS2343, so it isn't a newer version after all. Sorry for the confusion!

Any news on this?
The first game's isn't the only one suffering from not getting up to date with the Steam release, Darksiders II has the same crappy problem with not getting updates for the last few years.

We've rolled out the latest available update on July 7th. Let us know if it works properly :)

According to the changelog it looks like patch 6 got rolled out but i don't see patch 5 on the changelog. Does that mean they were both included and you guys just forgot to include the Patch 5 changes in the changelog? Patch 6's changes are the only things i'm seeing in the changelog on GOG:

Patch #6: Chinese, Native Steam controller support and better handling of D3D errors

Patch #6
Changelog
8th March 2017
- Added Simplified Chinese localization
- Added Native Steam controller support

Sweet, thank you! I'll download it all as soon as I can. Thanks!
I'm not seeing patch 5 notes nor am I seeing the hot fix release notes released after patch 6. If you go into the steam discussions and click on patch 6 discussion, there was a hot fix for....wait for it...xbox controller....hmmm...what other game had Xbox controller issues?
