Hello! I have black squares instead of button icons. So instead of R1, L1 etc I see black squares and don't even know how to make combos.

If someone know how to make a screenshot, I would add it (prt sc make a screenshot of my desktop).

Does anyone know how to fix that?

Yep - this is a known issue. Apparently it's been patched on Steam but this update has not been rolled out on GOG ... yet. Could you please submit a query through GOG so that they can forward it onto Devs. I think we need to create more noise about it because it appears to be forgotten about at the moment.

Me Too! I saw that my game (which was stuck in the canyon) now worked, but all of my button prompts were big black boxes - man - trade one set of problems for another!

I hope this gets patched soon - been a problem for nearly two months now.
I was about to ask if this gets fixed, good to know they are actually working on it, also i must ask, how is the state of the game in general right now? Is it playable from start to finish without game breaking bugs or crashes?

I have finished it from start to the end, biggest bug encountered was the one that this thread is about. There were two smaller problems, but always local to some puzzles, no crashes.

Both are in land of the dead. First is "invisible chests" on a bridge - I got to them fine the first time, but didn't have all the skills required to finish it. When I wanted to return later, death grip stopped aiming for grip points about halfway through. I managed to solve it with manual aim, but it is a lot harder, and took a lot retries. Second is soul arbiter maze entrance - there is one wall peg on a timer, and a lever after the puzzle to make it permanently visible. If you are too fast, you can make it permanently hidden instead. It's not entirely gamebreaking, soul arbiter maze is optional, but I loaded a save anyway, so no harm done.

can anyone confirm if the same black box issue affects the original DS2, thanks, also is DS2 original so bad it will make me hate the series?

Deathfinitive is mostly a (minor) graphical update that also did a bit of rebalancing with the DLC & bonus promotion weapons.

This issue only affects the Deathfinitive version.
