I have a problem with the first Darksiders: since the beginning, the game stutters terribly whenever I move. characters and objects are fine, and when I walk in a straight line I can barely see it, but each time I rotate the camera te game becomes choppy as if it barely ran on the minimum requirements.
The framerate counter stays always stable on 60, never dropping of even one point, yet the game is anything but smooth, performing like it ran at 30 fps or less -something very bothersome for my sight that makes the game almost unplayable for me, giving me sickness after a short while.
Enabling or disabling the Vsync changes nothing, either from the option menu or the nVidia control panel.

I'm running the game on a i7-4770 cpu, GTX770 and 8Gb ram Windows 7 64 bit PC, so system requirements should definitely not be an issue.

I know the game is not supposed to run like this, and I also know other had the same issue. Is there any solution?

Enebias:
I haven`t played the game from GOG (I have it on Steam) but I can tell you I had not such problems.
My system is weaker than yours: i5-2500 cpu, Radeon 6950, 8Gb ram, Windows 7 64 bit PC.

What you could do:
- lower your graphical settings (like antialising, antifiltering), see if the performance improve.
- check if you have the latest drivers for your nVidia video card
- defragment your hard disk

Those were the most logical first steps; I checked them all, and none of them changes anything.
My dirvers are up to date, my disk defragmented and (something really embarassing, even for a console port like this) there are NO graphic options aside from resolution, vsync and brightness.
The problem definitely does not concern hardware performance, and the fps counter sepaks loudly: it never drops under 60, no matter what happens on screen.

After looking around, I found this thread where the OP seemed to have my same issue: http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1684608

There, they talk about "Disable display scaling on high DPI systems". Having never heard about this I checked what that meant, but even if I perfectly understood what it is and what it should do in theory, I have no idea of how to actually do it. A little help, please? :P
I think it's worth a try!

Right-click, Properties and it's on the Compatibility tab.
This may sound strange, but i don't think the problem is graphical. I think it sounds more like some form of input lag. I'd look into the mouse settings. If you're using a a wireless mouse then try plugging in an old wired one first of all, to see if there's a difference. If you notice any difference at all, even if it doesn't actually fix the problem entirely- you will at least know you're on the right track for further investigation.

Edit: And if you have a controller, try that even if you don't want to play with it...the results will still be helpful in narrowing down what the problem is.

Thank you for the answers, but unfortunately the problem is still unresolved.
The display scaling was already set and cannot be changed, and for what concern the input lag I tried the game with both controller and mouse with no avail. I have even removed mouse and keyboard just to see if they were interfering, but the result is always the same.
Quick question - are you using Galaxy?

Bethezer: Quick question - are you using Galaxy?
No, I'm not.
Damn... there are some issues with playing DS1 throough Galaxy, was hoping this may solve your problem... other that recommending GOG tech support there is nothing I can do. :/
EDIT: forget my post, the solution I posted here before the edit didn't work. The game works fine for a while each time I reinstall it, then the problem comes back.
