If John Romero wanted to make another game who would he have to go through to make DK 2, Ion Storm is gone and MonkeyStone is gone, Eidos is gone, Tom Halls gone, everyone from IS is gone, i wish he came back for the lulz, is he retired?
not to necro post, but, a PROPER remake of Daikatana, would just be perfect...cause done right the game would kick major arse

I have to agree. Playing this game feels a lot like playing a prototype for a really awesome shooter with terrific "gamey" art design. I know they ran into engine issues, and I'm sure a lot of the game's problems stem from using Quake 2 in a Quake 3 world.

I'd like to see a remake. A time-traveling sci-fi Samurai isn't the worst idea for a shooter, and the RPG elements - akin to the newest DOOM - could set it apart from the ordinary corridor shooters we get today. I like the concept for the game, but the execution came up short. A remake with today's tech could deliver a good, quality product.

Remember the frogs? Oh-ho, how funny! I burst open (almost) laughing so hard when I first fired up the game when it was new!...;) Romero's "suck it down" horrendous bull...never forgave him for that crap--although it is just too funny even today!
I believe Romero stated several times that he won't do another Daikatana, sequel or not. If he won't do it, nobody will.

So, enjoy the one we got.
If the magic happened I would be down for a good remake and or a sequel to Daikatana that was able to pull Romero's vision off to a better ground. What we got, while heavy with warts, still has a lot of charm to it IMHO and with the 1.3 patch it makes it go from a mediocre game to a rather decent experience that could have been better with focus and tech.

"Calling all Night Dive Studios developers!"
I doubt Romero is going to make a sequel to a game that is considered a joke .

There was a DK2 in the planning, which should be developed by Human Head based on Unreal Tech. After cancelling DK2, they where allowed to use the licence, and made Rune out of it.
