At the bottom of the store page the following advice can be found: Best played with Controller I have seen this many times and been burned because using keyboard/mouse often doesn't work in games released for several platforms. Blacksad is one such game. Is this such a case? Does a keyboard/mouse combination work as it should or are there any noticeable problems with this input scheme?

Over on youtube most people seem to play with a controller so there is no way to find information there. There is one negative review on Steam which doesn't go into any detail about it.

Just to make one thing clear: This isn't about not wanting to use a controller just because it is a PC. I simply don't want to support a company when they aren't able or willing to make their input scheme work for PC. Whether this is Amanita or some other company - if they can't do it I will not buy their game.

I've been using the keyboard just fine. There is no mouse input, but considering everything you need to do is already set up for the keyboard, I don't see that conflicting with your stance about games without PC input. I've played several hours now and didn't even realize that it was recommended to use the controller, seems just fine with keyboard.

Thanks for taking the time to reply! As long as native input works as it should I'm fine. When there is a choice of either/or and both work I will buy the game. In case of Blacksad and The Walking Dead series I asked for a refund because playing with keyboard was impossible. 3 minutes into I died because input to get past the QTE wasn't registered ... Walking Dead? Playtime? A total of 5 minutes. There's more titles that I care to remember I refunded for that exact reason. So it's great to hear that this isn't the case with Creaks. :-)
I know what you mean, it is nice to know if keybord is a practial way of playing the game or not and they often don't make that clear. In this case I can only guess they say that because some of us have less than ideal ergonimics with our keyboards and it can be more comfortable to play with a controller, but it would be nice it they made it clearer. I played the full game both ways and other than generic ergonomic issues the keyboard works 100% perfectly (no button/key remap but the controls are basic and not all that time sensistive).

Thank you for taking your time to answer my question! Yes, it would indeed be helpful to clarify that. I don't mind whether keys can be remapped in a game where there's only a very basic control scheme WASD Space etc.

Thanks to the both of you for answering my question and alleviating the doubts I had. Now I'm looking forward getting the game sometime next month.

I'm glad it was helpful. If you happen to see this I'd suggest setting zykour's answer as the solution so that it gets the "solved" note in the forum. I'm guessing it won't make much difference in this case but if a forum gets more posts it can be helpful.
Even though "Question" was written in brackets, this is just a normal topic. Thus, no possibility to mark a solution here.

I am very sorry but this is impossible ... colrito pointed out why ... Maybe a friendly moderator could set it as an answer or change the format of this thread so I can mark it myself? Next time I know better! Sorry ... :-)

Oh, just ignore my babbling then, as is often a good idea :).
