I am pleased to present the Cossacks Back to War Ultimate Pack!
The puropse of this pack is to integrate all of the cossacks single-player content for free into Back to War, as well as integrate a switchable Mod1 to BTW as well.

FEATURES:

--> ALL original Campaigns, both from European Wars and Art of War, integrated into BTW, including the tutorial from EW!
--> ALL original single missions from EW & AOW integrated into BTW, bringing the total to 117 single missions.
--> One new Campaign, "Over the Horizon", integrated alongside EW & AOW Campaigns.
--> Switchable MOD1 for Back to War. You can now easily enable or disable MOD1 via a simple batch file I wrote. You can also enjoy the original campaigns as they are compatible with MOD1, bringing a little twist to the old campaigns.
--> A couple of small bugfixes (missing packhorses, missing animations for Swiss And Hungary).
--> A simple uninstaller, should you ever want to go back to vanilla BTW, for your convenience.

This pack will not modify ANY existing files of the original Back to War. It will simply add new files that take priority upon load.

LINK: DOWNLOAD - SFX INSTALLER

LINK: ALTERNATIVE DOWNLOAD - REGULAR RAR ARCHIVE (EXTRACT TO YOUR BACK TO WAR ROOT FOLDER)

Enjoy and post any comments or questions. I will do my best to answer them.

PS: I believe this pack will also work on any steam version but I cannot be sure...

LATEST NEWS (9.6.2015)
I released a couple of standalones here for people who do not want the full pack but maybe only the campaign or animation fixes.
Here are the standalones. If you are using my Campaign then you don't need the animation fix, because it's already included in it. Be sure to use a clean BTW installation.

LINK: Just the animation fix for Harqebusier, Pandur, Chasseur, Hajdu (Swiss and Hungary, EXTRACT TO ROOT Back to War)

LINK: Over the Horizon Campaign 1.1 with animation fix (EXTRACT TO ROOT Back to War)

LINK: Battle of Sisak mission

Cheers!

The alternative download (regular RAR Archive) seems to work just fine for a Steam installation. I was able to start campaign missions without a problem. I have not tested the MOD1 switching batch file to see if it is also Steam friendly.

I did try the SFX installer first, but it only got part way through the installation before it threw an error claiming that one of the files was corrupted.

Hmm, thanks for the report.

Did you try re-downloading the damaged file?

EDIT: I've downloaded tested the SFX. It's fine. Your download must have got corrupted. Re-downloading will probably fix the problem.

Thank you so much! This pack works like a charm and makes Back to War the perfect, stand alone Cossacks compilation. I am sure that fans of Cossacks on GOG appreciate it as much as I do!

It seems that the developers messed up some animations in Back to War, and I messed up by not fixing them correctly. I'm releasing the 1.1 version with the fixed animations.

The problems were with 4 units (Switzerland and Hungary): Pandur, Hajdu, Harqebusier, Chasseur.
This has been corrected in version 1.1.

This is a bug with the original game. (wrong frames declared in MD file, wrong weapon ID in Harqebusier MD file)

Any plans to integrate "Enemy Of The Crown" campaign?

Well, Enemy of the Crown is not really a campaign, but a series of single player missions that should work if extracted to root folder but I can't remember for sure . I did not integrate them because the last time I played it, some missions didn't work well for me (some ending triggers did not fire properly as I remember). I might add them though, but unlikely.

Edit:
It will work for Art of War if you extract the installer files manually (try 7-zip).

New update, check the first post.
Hello. I love this mod, thank you so much for making it!

Two things bother me:

1. The Heavy infantry of Turks are either too weak in melee combat or should be trained faster. Right now, they seem almost completely useless even in the very early game.

2. If possible, please end the evident bias against the muslim factions Algeria and Turkey of this game (not the fault of the modders, but the game developers :-) ). Give them 18th century research!

The Ottoman Empire after the failed siege of Vienna and a general decline thereafter was still a major power for some time. Even in WW1 their army gave the British some serious trouble at the Dardanelles (Gallipoli campaign). Therefore I suggest this change. Giving them a weak 18th century will be alright though. I get the idea of the factions being strong in the early and midgame, but still the advantages of 18th century are too overwhelming for these 2 factions to keep up currently except if sticking with very narrow and repetitive strategies. Ideally, they need a new modelled 18th century ship that like their unique fleet of 17th century (Xebecs) would provide something new. An 'Ottoman styled' frigate with faster rate of fire and movement speed compared to other 18th frigates would be great. Secondly a 18th century janissary for Turks and for Algeria some guerilla rifle infantry (similar to the Tuareq in Cossacks 2). These new units should be on the more expensive side and create a slower, more specialized option for Algeria and Turkey. In conclusion this is to open up new posibilities for these two factions. Right now they are the zergers of the game, but in the late game they have to rely on too few cheap unit options. This addition would give them more. It will not be overpowered if these new units are expensive and somewhat slowly trained. Remember how other factions get many new units at 18th century while I only propose 1 ship (shared) and 1 unit (nation unique) for Algeria and Turkey each.

Final note: I know this is a huge amount of work I'm suggesting, but just wanted to put it up here for people to consider. Thanks for reading!

Thanks you for your feedback!

Please note that the only content I created was the Horizon Campaign and the modified units for it. The rest of the project was an effort to combine all the Cossacks games into the BTW engine/exe. The MOD1 featured is the original mod that was present on the BTW disc and was made by Baddog. I only implemented a switch so you can easily turn it off and on.
Hello there.
I forgot about Cossacks for many years but now I wanted to feel that joy again. I got gog.com version of cossacks and found out about your awesome utlimate pack. Apparently, I have some issue with turning on mod1 after instalation. The problem is I can not turn ON mod1 using Mod1_Switcher.bat . I tried to reinstall game and Your pack but with no success. Game works fine but mod1 is disabled. When launching a Mod1_Switcher.bat and trying to turn it on, the status of Mod1 is still >>OFF<<.
Any ideas what may have gone wrong?
Regards, Michał

Did you install in the correct folder? Do campaigns appear in your Back to War?

I just downloaded and tested the pack on a fresh install and it's working fine.

can I get a guide on how to install this

nxtgamer: can I get a guide on how to install this
The instructions are written in the installer. Basically, you install the rar to your back to war root folder. If you use the manual installer, just extract the files to your root folder. That's it.
This seems interesting but the links no longer work.
