Am i the only one that cannot exist missions? For example - if i click 'lets go' button at the end of an encounter - nothing happens. Or another mission might say 'goodbye' - but again, click the button does nothing...ive restarted the game twice and always encounter the same issue.

The first time, when i completed the football stadium encounter (and got a new team member) every time i clicked 'lets go' my fuel went up - in to the 600 range(!) - but the screen never closes. Is this a known bug, is there a workaround?
Well, that's certainly very odd. Restarting the entire game gets you passed that particular scenario, but as soon as you reach the next one it happens again?

From what I can see by reading through the Steam Bug Report Forums, it might have something to do with playing windowed. If you are playing windowed, could you try playing Full Screen?

If that is not the case, please following the steps detailed by Sander which I'll quote below. I'm afraid I can't help much on the technical sides of things.

Bug Reports - We need your error logs!
To help us identify bugs we want your error logs!

If you encounter a bug or other issue, especially in scenarios, please do the following:
1. Save & Exit
2. Close the game
3. Post the error log

Log files

The log file gets created when you start the game, and it overwrites any previous file you may have. So if you encounter an issue, try to find and post the log file before you start a new game.

So, where can you find this log file?

Windows:
[Steam directory]\SteamApps\common\Convoy\Convoy_Data\output_log.txt
Mac:
On Mac all the logs can be accessed uniformly through the standard Console.app utility.
~/Library/Logs/Unity/Player.log
Sometimes, these log files may become very large. In those cases, it might be best to mail them to us instead of cluttering the forums. You can send them to me (Sander) at:
sander@convoy-games.com
Hope that helps.

Developer provided a fix in about 5 minutes!! Amazing customer service - other, bigger developers take note; im looking at you rockstar! :P

Apparently, even as the system admin i didnt have sufficient access to the following file path -

"C:\Users\%user%\Documents\Convoy\GameStats.xml"

Perhaps because i have the game installed on the D:\ drive?! (Massive speculation...)

Running the game exe as admin fixed the problem - without needing to change any auths on the file.

Hope this helps others.
