Now you should know before I say anything else that my Intel Media Accelerator Display Driver keeps crashing, though not when I play games. Probably because I play old games. So I download Undying hoping it will work since I played it a month ago but there was some sound bug which crashed the game. The opening cutscene begins and slows down while the sound is normal. It then crashed simulataneously with the driver. When I launched it again it asked if i wanted to run in safe mode, change 3D device and so forth and so I changed it from Direct 3D or DirectX, I'm not sure, to 3DFX. the intro was still slow, but I alt-tabbed and it went okay. But although I fixed the resolution to 1366x768 with nglide there are still lines all over, everything is fuzzy and grainy including letters, as if it's a game with anti-aliasing turned off. And jsut now it ran stably but slowly for 5 minutes. As in, Howlers are running at me, but slowly. Any advice?

Yes, let's switch our computers for this game, oh please let's do that.

Seriously tho, Unreal Engine has a tendency to do the slowing down thing from Windows Vista onwards. Switching the games to OpenGL renderer has fixed the issue, I'm not entirely sure if it is available natively tho. And if your video drivers keep restarting, try to do something with that as well, it usually means faulty hardware - which means the longer it's gonna happen the worse it's gonna get
With the mention of 'Intel Media Accelerator Display Driver' I assume you've some kind of low-end GPU or intergrated GPU? My bet would be that as they are not intended for 3D games.

Yep, Intel GMA 4500M garbage. The thing is, before I give it to a repairman to reinstall the OS and format all the harddrives I want to finish at least this game, the story is so interesting. I've still got Septerra Core, Blood and Duke Nukem unfinished. And it wasn't a problem until 3 weeks ago and you can't say I tax the laptop too much since I haven't played anything after 2007.
I fixed the "problem" from the safe mode application, but now when I switched back to driect 3D-whatever, the resolution is still faulty, with big black lines on the side and everthing's lost the, i don't know, sharpness and crispness of the image of the other device. It looks kinda dull, although there aren't any lines of fuzzy textures.

Unless you're on a laptop or dirt poor I would buy a 50-100$ GPU just to replace it as then you likely at least have less issues, not to mention better stability and performance.

That's a good suggestion, but unfeasible since if all goes all and I pass my forthcoming exams, I'll go sutdy in the capital and buy a laptop. Not a gaming one, but sufficiently powerful. So that 100 dollars which translates to 150 of our currency would be a waste.
So yeah, an update. I have a monster of a laptop now and my question is - how do I run the game in 32-bit and 1920x1080 resolution? Its just a small square on my screen otherwise.

If you want to play in 1920x1080 you have to choose DirectX and then follow this post widescreen to get to work correctly (otherwise the journal will be cut off and you miss a part for every page). 32-bit should be automatic but you can choose that in graphics or options then go to advanced.

If you choose 3dfx and play through nGlide 32-bit is forced but then you'll have to choose between 4:3 or stretched. There's better eye candy with 3dfx/nGlide too.

Thanks I will try and see how it works out. I hope it doesn't crash or anything on this machine, it's an Asus ROG after all. If it does, I will admit I am cursed not play this beautiful game start to finish.
Umm. sorry but what post should I follow? You linked to a fix but nothing else.

Download the 3.4MB zip, unpack it and overwrite the file in "C:\[YOURPATH]\Undying\System". Make a back up so you can test the changes yourself and in case it wouldn't work you don't need to reinstall.

Follow this Guide to change resolution and FOV.
