Just started playing Road to Hill 30, and I've noticed that when I'm mouselooking and moving at the same time, the mouse will sometimes drag for a second, either left or right. Is there any way to fix this?

EDIT: Here's my dxdiag if that helps.

Same here.

Yep, same here. I´m tinkering with the options (post-processing, antialiasing, shadows, screen resolutions, etc) but so far nothing, this annoying mouse drag still occurs...
Go to YourUserName/appdata/roaming/Gearbox Software/brothersinarms/YourProfileName/ and open user.ini

There are certain mouse options there like

MouseSmoothingMode
MouseSamplingTime
MouseAccelThreshold

Play around with those maybe it will help, I don't have any mouse problems so i can't offer anything more.

Appdata is a hidden folder.

Edit
Make sure your framerate is capped to 60, old games don't play well on high framerates, and bugs can appear, cap it by enabling v-synch, the amd/nvidia control panel or rivatuner.
I don't recommend v-synch though, in my experience it can create input lag in some cases.

I've tried following the instructions on this page, but I still have mouse lag/drag and screen tearing.

Yes, in-game V-Sync fixes the screen tearing, but it introduces additional mouse lag. So I've disabled it in-game and set Scanline sync = 60 in RTSS (just under the framerate limiter), since Radeon settings doesn't work with this particular game. Now I don't have screen tearing.

On the other hand, the mouse drag is unbearable because it happens when I'm moving sideways and turning the view with the mouse (sometimes it does a 360 LOL). Also, when I move the mouse quickly, it almost feels like the game is running way below 60 FPS, even though RTSS says it's doing 60.

Btw, it's the first "old" game that caused me issues. For example, Thief Gold is running perfectly and is way older than this (1998).

Hi all.
I suggest running the game on Compatibility Mode with any Service Pack version of Windows XP.

Already done (XP SP3).
Hi all.
In my first post I misunderstood the nature of the issue and mistreated it as a bug.
If I understand correctly, you take issue with how the camera drifts around the point you want to aim at (using A.D.S., a.k.a. Aiming Down the Sights), thus making your shots inaccurate. This is not a bug/glitch, but a game mechanic to simulate hand shaking/breathing, weapon recoil, combat stress under fire, inaccuracy due to moving and the reality of weapons having a "plate-size" accuracy rather a "pin-point" accuracy at distances. Also it succeeds to be a measure that discourages players to complete levels solo, by eliminating all of the enemy forces on their own, while it encourages them to use squad tactics, planning and leadership.
Bottom line; it's how the game works and plays by design. If you wish to remove this feature, there might be a modification package available around the Internet you could take a look at.

Nope, that's not the issue here (it's not a unique feature of this game). The issue is that if you move sideways and then use the mouse to look somewhere, the character will do additional movement in the direction you're going, like some sort of movement acceleration, only worse.

Hi Symphonic Alex.
In this case I can suggest only what runs fine for me.
I use an AMD RX480 GPU, with an HDMI connection, and run the game on its maximum settings, with V-Sync enabled. I run it on my monitor's native HD resolution and use the Radeon Settings to cap the maximum framerate at 60, in addition to V-Sync.
In my mouse settings I have "Enhanced Precision" disabled and I use the 6th speed for my pointer. I am also using Windows 8.1 as my OS and no software that can enhance the game, except for the GPU driver. From my knowledge Windows 10 are not the best OS to run games on and injection software can cause issues, when applied to aged games.
My power plan settings are set to "Performance" and I run the game with administrator privileges and in Windows XP SP3 compatibility mode.
Hope these help, but to be honest no matter what direction you move towards, the character seems to always take one more step after you let go of the movement button. I don't know if this is indeed an issue with the GOG.com version, if the game is designed to play like this, or even if you are experiencing this in a way worse form, but having played this game in the past, I can't see or feel something being significantly off, compared to the original (assuming this is not).

Thank you for trying to help me. Unfortunately, I've already tried all of these things, to no avail. I think I'll ask for a refund, I really can't play like this. I love old games, even clunky ones, but I can't play while having this kind of view movement.

Sorry for not solving your issue.
I hope GOG support can provide more.
:)
same problem here.
So, I've talked to the support guys and they told me to do some troubleshooting, which, unfortunately, didn't solve the issue. I just wanted to let you guys know what they suggested.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you want to troubleshoot this issue, then please follow these steps:

1) Please make sure that you use "Run as Administrator" to install and to start the game (right-click on the shortcut or setup file and select "Run as Administrator"). If you are running the game via Galaxy, you can skip this step.

2) Please reinstall the game AND add it to your anti-virus/firewall software's exception/trusted list (This also includes Windows Defender!) Simply disabling firewall or AV software could not be enough, since some of these antivirus programs are running still in background or in the services list. If you are using Galaxy, then please add Galaxy as well.
Please try to install the game on your C:\ drive but outside of Program Files or Program Files(x86) folder.
Please make sure that you install the game to a short path, for example:
C:\GOG or C:\Games

3) Please download and install DirectX Web Installer:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=35
Please bear in mind that this will only add DirectX 9.0c to the available pool of DirectX libraries, and it will not overwrite your other versions. Some games are not able to utilize newer DirectX libraries, and they require DirectX 9.0c.

4) Please update your graphics device drivers:
http://support.amd.com/en-us/download

5) Please set a more standard refresh rate (60 Hz). To do this right-click an empty space on your desktop, select Screen Settings > Display Adapter Properties > Monitor tab > change the Screen refresh rate to 60 Hertz.

6) Maybe you have some settings forced on your graphics device in Radeon Settings. If so then try to reset them:
I) Right-click on your desktop and select Radeon Settings.
II) Select Preferences -> Restore Factory Defaults.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1) Please could you change your desktop resolution to 1024x768 or 800x600 and set the same in the game settings and see if it helps with the jittery movements.

2) Please try disabling the “enhance pointer precision” option. To do this, go to Start -> Control Panel -> Mouse -> Pointer Options, then make sure that “Enhance pointer precision” is un-checked, and click OK. If you have other options selected in this tab, then please disable them as well.

3) Please could you try to run the game in Safe Mode?
To do so please go to the game in your GOG library, click MORE>Other>Safe Mode

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Can you all please try these steps and see if you can solve the issue?

Im suffering from the same illness here :/

Ive tryied all that, still crazy-dragging when I hold W to walk and move the mouse around

I wonder if it has something to do with modern mouse-keyboard hardware?
Mine is logitech keyboard, with a logitech wireless mouse, the only thing I havent tryied yet is changing mouse-keyboard to test what happens

The game is downright unplayable for me like this, so I guess many people are not experiencing this "blessing", at least Im not alone in my predicament
