I can't save/load games within the game. New to GOG so not sure what I am missing here.

Do you mean that you can't find how to save a game or that you tried saving via the in-game KIA but it didn't save your game?

The latter. I tried to use KIA save and it didn't work.

Did the game crash while trying to save your game?
Could you provide more details about your PC configuration and operating system please?

I tried to reproduce the issue on my Windows 10 x64, but saving and loading works fine for me.

I tried to reproduce the issue on my Windows 10 x64, but saving and loading works fine for me.
MacOS Catalina
Nothing happens when I try to save a game, doesn't show up in the save games list. I was able to continue playing and there were no error messages or crashes. It was so innocuous I actually thought it had worked. I only noticed when I quit and tried to resume my saved game that it wasn't there. I subsequently tried to save a game and realised it wasn't ever being created.

After a restart of the computer it asked for permission to modify documents folder when I started the game. This allowed for saving.

Good to know thanks, so MAC USERS:

It might be smart to RESTART after install!



edit: Tried it on my Mac and it asked the first time with no restart. It also seems to take awhile to sync in certain scenarios, but it worked.

Same thing here on macos catalina. it didn't ask any permissions, I will try restart and hope it will do the trick.

It was very frustrating to play for over an hour and realising I couldn't save. Oh, well. I'll just need to play the chapter again. :)

I have the same problem using Catalina, but it is not asking for premissions and the game doesn't allow me to save

OK, I discovered something...

If I try to launch the game from the main file, ir doesn't allow me to save or load games

But...

If I do right click and SHOW PACKAGE CONTENTS, I can launch the game from \CONTESTS\MACOS\GOGLauncher

And then it works...

Hi guys,

i'm having the same problem. Tried to reinstall the game didn't work. Not sure I understand the last post before mine. Can someone please explain in clear words / steps how to solve the saving bug.

I really want to play en save this game... Good old times! :)

EDIT:

OK, found out you have to start the game from it's GOG page in order to get it to work right. Still, please fix this issue GOG so we can play directly from the app. :)

I had the same problem with Cataline. Had to go into security settings and give the game full disk access.
