Any recommendations about the big bad at the end? I just can't seem to defeat him at all when it gets to the part where he reverses the controls. I'm hitting him as much as I can, but he just keeps wearing me down. I've tried about 4 times now with 23 health packs and every power up I can imagine..the guy just won't lie down and die.....
Any advice gratefully recieved
The boss is actually quite easy if you can figure out his pattern, in the last fighting sequence you must hit a certain number of times, however this number resets everytime he hits you, just try to remind his attacks come from.
Cheers. I just can't seem to deal with his overhead attacks. I know that I need to do a power attack, but there just doesn't seem the time to carry it out. He always pounces before I can initialise it....
The overhead attacks you just need to dodge. The key to the whole sequence is that you don't need to move around much. Just stand still, then quickly face the direction the high priest appears from and attack, once. Rinse and repeat, and when he appears overhead just dodge.
After 30 minutes of frustration: I ended up allowing myself to be killed over and over, then wrote down the pattern he attacks in. It's the same ever time.
Overhead attacks: quickly change to ranged weapon and look up fast then hit him. He pretty much takes up the whole screen so you don't need to aim. Since you can memorise the pattern, you can look up in that split second before he warps above you, don't wait! for him to appear.
Cool thanks for the advice people I will try those methods out
(Oh how I hate impossible bosses...)
It's not THAT hard... I remember struggling even realizing it was a pattern, took me like an hour to realize, when I first played through it. I still have the pattern memorized.
i thought the final boss was way too easy... i beat him on the first try without any memorization. The reverse control part just needs a little patience. Don't move around at all. When he disappears, just wait. when he re-appears just press in the direction he is opposite of and press attack, and you'll hit him. when he reappears just press the direction he is not in and attack again, he appears quickly enough that you can combo the hits and its pretty easy to hit him before he gets to you. When he appears above you, dodge, then attack. For the mass enemy spawns the charge up attack works well.
The ending kinda bugged me though, not nearly enough info on what/who Jade actually is... just vague references to her being powerful/power source and then **spoiler**
resurrecting everyone in the cave and ending the game with a smile.
i have completed it a few times succsessfully using the power attack for his overhead attack. it's a bit tricky to get the timing right but entirely possible. never occurred to me to use the disc launcher.
as for the ending, for me it was very climatic. it doesn't explain much but don't forget bgne is supposed to be a trilogy.

I actually flipped my controller up-side-down for that part. =D

The only problem was that it messed up my right hand trying to hit the buttons for actions. Still took me a second try. But it wasn't as bad as trying to remember to hit the opposite direction everytime.

You can also dodge (=jump) - it is the easier way.
