Whenevere time forwarding happens (i.e. you eat at a restaurant, you call for backup to secure a crime scene, etc.) the black screen appears with the info how much time passed. However the screen doesn't go away, and the normal game sounds continue, which means the game time is progressing. I managed to get out of this bug by pressing P twice to activate and deactivate the 'Beat Cat Mode' - the black screen disappears. Hovewer, the white text is still there, it makes reading speach bubbles difficult, the ESC-Menu won't show anymore, no more "missions" come from the police radio and the inventory doesn't work (handcuffs, notebook, etc). This behaviour also continues on the next day.

System:
Windows 7 x64
AMD FX-6300
ASRock 990FX Extreme3
16 GB RAM
Radeon R9 280X
2-Monitor setup

This problem only happens with the latest version.
I've reinstalled the game a few minutes ago, and the game didn't get stuck in the black screen.
So if you still have the Beat Cop installer v1.0.571, you can play without problem.

Me: Also not having an old version of the game. So the bug persists. :/
'tis really annoying since it is a game breaking bug. You cannot save on a day and have to replay the whole day when it happens.
Also here to confirm this bug. Happened 3 times so far, all on different days/events, all events were able to be passed on a second play of that day so it's not tied to any specific events.

You guys should be able to roll back to v1.0.571 via the Settings page. At least, it's there for me.
[edit:] I should point out that in order to do this, you need to set your Install Updates option to "Manually," which then brings up a list of past versions to roll back to.

Thanks, that's what the GOG support emailed me. ;)

BTW there is also a new build available, which apparently fixes this issue.

Good news, the dev sent a fix to gOg, you can download it right now, check your library. ˆˆ
THX @ all.
Didn't knew that "set to manually" will show you older releases. Will remember till kingdom come now.
Also cool, that the devs patched it.
Case closed :D
