Hello!

I was finally able to find something really really... golden. Jackpot!

It's the Battle Realms Widescreen support hack/fix/patch and a program that changes Field Of View in the game. I've decided to inform everyone about this amazing find, so here you are.

Notes (real important, give it a read, yo):

0. Works only with Winter Of The Wolf (A.k.a. 1.50q a.k.a. the latest GAME VERSION since 2002, the language or edition doesn't matter)

1. Any additional monitors (more than one) should be disabled (WinKey + P combination).

2 .Use the default fov or fov +33%, don't go for 66% as it will only result in more issues.

3. It fixes the game issues caused by Windows 10 and also any minimap issues!

Downloads:

1. This is the original site.
2. This is an archive compiled by me with instructions.

HOORAY! :D

Doesnt seem to work.
Wow, this even solves the issue with the minimap (with the terrain, or even all the minimap not showing unless you alt-tab)!
Thanks for the info!

Have you tried editing Battle_Realms.ini to change the res. for something else? Or without D3DIM700.DLL?

Does it? Well, welcome and thanks for the additional info about side issues being solved.

Works really well with my GOG copy, thanks!
The cutscenes and the province choosing screen are totally black. What's goin on?
Thanks, this is an awesome patch.

However, I have hit the same issue, cutscenes are black, the sound is playing though, any fix?

Afraid I'm not the author and there's no official support for it. I might contact the creators later.

This issue probably appears on higher resolutions. I sit at 5:4 (1280x1024) and it's all fine.

Have you tried experimenting with FOV values in FoV changer?
Hi! Is the Vert- Solution mandatory? Do I have to do it too or can I just replace the game files and edit the INI document. Thanks!

Hello, check the original site link and instructions there, please.

I did some experimenting, it seems like the issue with the cutscenes is caused by the 66% FOV patch. Using the default FOV with the FOV changer program or using the 33% FOV patch solves the issue, I am running the game in 3440x1440, cheers.

Thanks again for the great patch, I hate having black bars lol.
Very nice improvement indeed !
Running at 1920*1080 FOV 33% looking good.
Some text are overflowing message windows but apart from that it's fine.
Thanks !
I cannot get this to work at all.

I followed the instructions and replaced the files, i edited the ini and set it to 1920x1080, and then everytime i try to use the Custom Resolution Patch it tells me that this version isn't supported. I tried launching it with and without the D3DIM700.dll, but nothing i've tried works. I'd really like to get this working, please help. The Error that appears when i try launching the game is "Cannot find supported display mode"

Oh, and i followed both the ReadMePlease file and the Readme that came with the custom resolution patch.

Edit: I figured it out, Seems to be because i use 2 monitors. Have to turn 1 off to boot it.

Since the "Custom Resolution Patch" made by fk. doesn't work properly, this is exactly what people have been asking for.
Hi I know this is an old thread but I copied both the .exe and D3D into my game folder and it still says couldn't find error. Is there anything I'm missing?

EDIT: I'm using the GOG version.

Greetings, Hakkai.

Might be the same problem as the post above. You're running dual (or more) monitor setup. Battle Realms only works with 1 monitor unless you use wrapper programs like dgVoodoo2.
