I get this message every time i try to start the game! I asked on EVERY forum i know but nobody could help me yet.

Disable my second monitor. (Windows+P)
(I also tried to unplug it too but it didnt work.

Every compatibility mode and other options in the compatibility tab of the Battle_Realms.exe.

Changing stuff in the .ini file.. (Yes, i made a backup)
Resolution=800x600
Fullscreen=0

Restarting Windows.

I bought this game on the GOG client because i thought they fixed this problem. Nothing helped me yet. If you have any more ideas please let me know.

You're not the only one. I got the game for free today (because of the sale). No matter what I try, I get the same error.

It's worth noting this error is part of the support page for Battle Realms.

Battle Realms does not support multi-monitor setups.

Solution listed there:

"The game will not launch if two monitors are enabled. Therefore, you need to disable your secondary monitor.

Windows 7 users should press WinKey+P to select only the primary monitor,
Windows Vista and XP users should disable the secondary monitor under Display Settings, or unplug the monitor.

Please keep in mind that turning the monitor off will not help, as long as the system still recognizes it."

There is unfortunately no workaround for this up to this point, and I doubt there ever will be a patch or something similiar to fix this.

There actually is a workaround for this problem! The folks at PCGamingWiki recently came up a solution which allows the game to run fullscreen on a multimonitor display (see "Use dgVoodoo2"). The only downside is the fix requires a graphics card supporting DirectX 10.1 or higher.

Oh wow sorry guys didnt saw the answers here

Download newest version and copy the DLLs in the ms directory and the cpl exe in the Root directory of the game.
That should do it.
You can try also different options and configs and tweaks with the CPL :)

it now says could not initialize display mode, is it because i am using windows 11?
