Hi all,

We put up a new installer and a universal update for those of you who already have an older version of our installer. The installer is version 2.0.0.19 and the patch will bring up any previous installs of Battle Isle Platinum to that same version.

Issues fixed in this iteration of Battle Isle and friends:

"It seems like that music track 05 is the only music track that gets played, ever. no other music tracks play (when it finishes playing track 05, it should in theory switch to another track, but it does not, and the game will become silent. also, I'm pretty sure that in the later parts of the game, different tracks should play as default). do note that I'm not 100% sure about the track switching, I would have to reinstall my original platinum edition to check the exact behavior, but one one way or another, the music/audio playback still requires attention, no doubt." - Fixed

"You could also change IRQ setting for BI2 and it's addon from 7 to 5 in dosbox .conf files, because right now SFX doesn't work." - that be fixed so hard it's unfixed and fixed again.

Thanks for your patience and have fun, you guys :D.

Thanks for the update. Are there any other major bugs still present that I should be aware of?

Dang. "This patch does not support your version of the game." I had 2.1.0.17 installed. Good that you guys also included the new standalone installer. Downloading it now as well.

It gets worse. I just uninstalled the installation I already had, hoping that the patch would work then and now all v2 installers report that my version of Windows is not supported. o_O Will have to reboot (once I can). Hope that this goes away.

Anyway: I presume the patch does not address the issue with music not working in Incubation in 3dfx mode, eh?

I think it was?
2.0.0.19 should include all Incubation fixes, that means fully patched exe, fully patched resources, and music/cutscene voiceovers fully working in both directx and 3dfx mode. can't check myself until I get back from work though.

It's high time to bust some alien ass! thanks :D
Awesome, works like a charm now. Even a configurator that makes switching to 3dfx more convenient is included now, yay! It IS an addition from the today's update, right?

One question: nGlide is NOT included with the game, right? I mean, you still have to install nGlide manually in order to play Incubation in 3dfx mode, eh?

Oh, cool. I was wondering because I used the configuration tool of my main nGlide installation on the system to get rid of the 3dfx splash screen and it did work with Incubation. Wasn't aware that an executable for the config tool can also be found in the Incubation folder.

Btw, shouldn't a shortcut to that one be automatically installed along with Incubation? Would make it easier for some people to remove the splash screen or change the aspect ratio and stuff.
Really great update, thank You!
Yay! Incubation finally hatched properly. ^_^
not just yet.

while the cutscene voiceover now plays correctly, playing even one cutscene will completely disable the music for me. after this happens, attempting to change the music volume will cause the game to become unresponsive. or, it will not play the voiceover at all and crash the game.

and, while each map now plays it's proper default track, when the track finishes, no other track will be loaded, and the music will be disabled until I exit to the menu and start a new game.

it might be just me, but I doubt it.

Cool, have to try it again, was pretty angry that Incubation worked as bad as the original CD version of the Platinum Pack that I own as well, have to check out if it works better now. Never had the chance to play Incubation properly because when it was new my PC was too bad, and later my PC was too modern for the game.
BTW, any chance the original German language version will be added some time? Would be cool if the games that are originally from Germany like the Battle Isle series, the Earth series, Settlers, Realms of Arkania (Das Schwarze Auge) etc. would have German versions on gog, especially since some other games in the roster got alternate languages through recent updates as well. Doesn't mean that I prefer to play German versions. I usually play English language versions of all games, especially because the voice acting is always better in the original versions of US or British games, but it's often the other way round in German games, and I'm pretty sure the same also counts for the original versions of the Russian and Polish games on gog.
EDIT: Well done! Incubation finally works both in 3dFX and Direct X mode. Cool!
@vodoo47: Noticed this as well, only one track seems to play per mission, then the playback stops.
