I have a weird lag issue with BG2. The program runs smoothly for about ten seconds, then the display slows down to about 1-2 fps. Action/movement continues more or less as normal, but the display rate tanks - like a slideshow. When I switch screens (to the inventory, options, map etc), it goes smooth again... for about ten seconds. Then back to the lag. And on and on. This even happens on the top menu.
The weird thing is I got up to Chapter 4 before this happened, now I can't seem to get rid of it. I have uninstalled/reinstalled the program, to no avail... changed resolution, color settings, nothing seems to help. Any ideas?
All my drivers etc are up to date.
Windows XP
Pentium 4 2.4
NVidia GeForce FX 5500
1Gb Ram
