Here's a question, if I wanted to Tutufy my BG1 installation, but also add the tweak and fixpack mods, how would I go about it? What order would the Tutu, Fixpack and Tweak Pack installations go in?

If you have BG2 in addition to BG1, then:

1-Tutu
2-fixpack
3-tweakpack

Essentially, core elements first, tweaks second.

But do I install the fix and tweak pack in the bgtutu folder or not? Because the fixpack doesn't seem to recognize that the folder in question contains the tutufied BG1, so I'm worried about compatibility problems.

All the weidu executables should be run from within the game directory you'd like to modify. But hold on, are you using EasyTutu? Easytutu includes a fixpack. I don't think I've ever even used the BG2 fixpack with Easytutu.

However, BG2 tweakpack can do plenty in BGTutu or BG2.

edit: and I'm assuming that, if you're using Win7, you've installed BG1/BG2/BGtutu outside the 'program files' directories.

I'll reinstall Tutu and check...

You will want to install this as well, somewhere right before tweaks.

Courtesty of Ascension64 @ SHS, courtesy of Thiev here. This fixes a bug that has not been yet addressed in EasyTutu. Ascension64 is also an author of the BGT mega-mod, and the fix is integrated there...however, EasyTutu hasn't been (AFAIK) updated so regularly.

DavidW slipped the same fix into his 'core fixes" of SCS1 @ G3, but I doubt you'll want to try that mod for some time.

edit: why are you reinstalling? If you want to see what mods/tweaks have/have not been succesfully installed, open weidu.log with notepad in your game directory. Weidu does not generally do "broken" installs. If a tweak/mod is unsucessful, unless you terminate the application prematurely, I believe it restores files from a backup directory.

edit2: and if you are concerned a mod/tweak may be corrupted, just re-execute the tweak/mod using the weidu executable. It will prompt to reintall/uninstall.

Hmm, I installed Tutu and I don't see the fixpack executable anywhere. Are all of the changes included in by default?

They are an integrated part of EasyTutu. You will not find a separate folder of fixes.
"EasyTutu includes a large number of features, bug fixes and add-ons over and above those included with traditional Tutu and Tutufix."

EasyTutu lets BG1 work using core BG2 files. BG2 fixpack is used in BG2 to correct several creature, item, text, and scripting files. These are generally not core BG2 files and not a part of your BGTutu installation.

Your EasyTutu install includes several fixes. It does NOT include the Beregost fix. Get that, and then get on with your mods and tweaks.
Here is a very comprehensive list of mods and the order in which to install them. Think it's for Tutu and not EasyTutu though.

I think that list is far too comprehensive and also kinda outdated and inconsistant in several places compared to the current state of the listed mods, especially for someone that doesn't know the ins and outs of modding BG. I have just recently gone back to play through a game of BG and modded up a working install of both games and for a vanilla BG1 experience in BG2 engine with a few convenience tweaks you can hardly go wrong with this install order:

GOG.com Baldur's Gate TotSC Installer
GOG.com Baldur's Gate II ToB Installer

EasyTutu_ToB and Hotfixes (Or the newer EasyTutu Manager with ToB Package which I used)

EasyTutu Degreenifier

Tutufix (not the bg2fixpack, which shouldn't even let itself install if i remember correct, because it's not compatible with Tutu)

Tutusounds (for original inventory and spell casting sounds)

1pp Graphical Mods (for original paperdolls, avatar fixes, flaming swords, legacy shields etc)

BG2Tweaks

TutuGUI (cannot beat the stone interface for a game of BG1)

Widescreen Mod

all installing into your Tutu game folder, and all fairly well explained by their respective readmes if you think you're gettting stuck

Holy necro, Batman....

Anyways, you're not missing anything if you don't have/install those two particular mods, as it sounds like they're just trying to make Tutu look like vanilla BG1. They don't affect gameplay at all.
Is there no mod that enables auto-looting of corpses after battle? It's becoming a PITA to find and click on every single kobold corpse to get that 7 gp in 1920x1080.

You can use the tab key to highlight all items and containers on the map so you can loot them easily. (This is assuming you're using the BG2 engine.)

Yes, but even so, it's a clickfest and the wrist starts to hurt ...

Ideally, three things should be covered:

1. auto-loot gold from dead enemies.
2. auto-level up option.
3. load last save option after dying and/or in the start screen.
