Hello everyone!

What would the game be like if...

1. There were more types of currency like platinum and electrum

2. Wizards required spell components

3. Your party required rations, and suffered health issues when they didn't eat

I suggest you try playing some of the Ultima games. Rations are needed in all Ultima games (at least through 7) with the exception of 6 where they are only needed when resting. (Note that this mechanic gets extremely annoying in Ultima 7 where you need to manually feed your characters.) Spell components (which are called "reagents") are needed for spellcasting from 4 onward. With Ultima 4 being free on gog.com, you don't have any excuse for not at least trying that game and seeing what it's like with points 2 and 3.

It wouldn't be like Baldur's Gate.
1+3. wouldn't change anything noteworthy

2. better balanced among classes in BG2
