You might know me as the accidental necromancer who'd attempted to raise the 5 year old solved issue thread the other day (sorry Hickory!).
Hi.

I'm a little embarrassed but would like some help figuring out how to configure Gibbering 3's Wide Screen Mod.
My rig is a Windows 7 laptop with a 1766x768 native screen resolution and when I load The Original Saga it insists on being a centrally located 640x480 square. I tried tweaking the display in my control panel to do 640x480 (and also noodling around with compatibility mode) but no luck, still messed up. So the thing is when I run the wide screen mod if I set the resolution to x=1766 y=768 it stays the same... but if I tell it to support multiple resolutions and have the minimum be 640x480 with the maximum as 1766x768 it doesn't seem to do very much and weirdest of all if I set both the minimum and the max to be 1766x768 I get a 640x480 box shoved permanently into the upper left hand corner of the screen. This can't be right.
Please tell me there is a way to resize the game window... I've been stumped since last night and am starting to get somewhat pissed off about it.

Other specs (I don't know, in the off chance they might help?):
Graphics card: Shitty integrated Intel one it came prefab with that is heavily resistant to replacement (hence the appeal of getting DRM free stuff that is mod friendly + older games off GoG since it isn't aging gracefully as minimum requirements on several more modern games continue to get more demanding. lol).
x64 architecture.
An @ least eother second or third Gen i5 Processor.
8 Gb of RAM.
Make of computer is a Lenovo Thinkpad E540.

From the readme:
"Non-standard resolutions (E.G. 801 by 632) are not supported in fullscreen, but can work in windowed mode."

Is there any way to adjust the size of the window in windowed mode? Would I need another mod for that? I'm squinting at the box and it just feels like there should be a way to go about it. Even if I have to do something crazy like go under the hood and adjust magnification under something unorthodox like accessibility features... :-S

Edit: Oh crud. Noticed I'd placed the post in the wrong forum category. :(

It's more than likely that your problems stem from the fact that you're playing on a laptop with "Graphics card: Shitty integrated Intel one". Laptop video drivers are sometimes... lacking at the best of times, but with integrated Intel? Bad. Really bad. Unfortunately, with no first-hand experience of this, my knowledge is also lacking. Maybe somebody with experience will come along.

I hope so & thanks (Got my fingers crossed). My other device I play things on is an iPad but I broke it and am in the process of repairing it (got the some of the buttons wet & the volume is on the fritz... Cause: some places a person was just not meant to check email!) so until that's good and dry I'm stuck tinkering around on said laptop.

First, are you sure your default resolution is 1766 x 768 and not 1366 x 768 16:9?
There is no point in choosing resolutions that aren't supported by your display drivers.

Your problem is with display scaling & that is not what the widescreen mod is designed to fix.
Does pressing the Ctrl + Alt + F12 keys bring up scaling options to change the way the unmodded 640 x 480 fills the screen?
You need to see what display scaling options you have & get that sorted before you mod the game.
