I unfortunately missed playing all the way through BG2 and Im happy to have the chance now. I wanted to ask a couple of questions in regard to replay value.

Do monsters respawn or is it like Two Worlds where you can essentially empty the game world?

For Neverwinter Nights there was a great combat arena mod that let you customize a character and spawn monsters to fight to test him/her out. Are there any arena type mods for BG2?

Thanks!

But keep in mind that these games are not designed to have the players going back to the already visited areas (except if the plot demands it) so don't count on farming the monsters.

Thanks!
All the IE games (including BG2) have random and fixed encounters. You can wipe out the fixed ones but usually you get your monster fix if you wander in an area too much, especially if you sleep. At least this is the case in IWD and BG1 and I guess in BG2 too.
But keep in mind that these games ate not designed to have the player going back to the already visited areas (except if the plot demands it) so don't count in farming the monsters if that's your plan.

Also, I don't know any arena mod for BG2, I'm afraid of it isn't exist.
