Please someone help me solve this VERY annoying problem.

I can't enter the "docks" area in the game. When I try, the game just crashes and there is nothing I can do to avoid the black screen. What is wrong ? I can't advance in the game with an entire area unavailable...

I've been having similar problems in BG1 in the city of Baldur's Gate proper, except it seems to be for interior locations for me. One of the inns (forgot which one) crashes the game, as well as the sorcerous sundries shop.

I think it might be an installation problem since I played through the game last year (using the GOG version) and could definitely enter sorcerous sundries. I had uninstalled since then and redownloaded the client a couple of days ago. I'll try reinstalling tonight and you might want to try this out as well.

Try going to the folder where you installed BG2, and delete the contents of the "cache" and "temp" folders.

I tried the second solution to no success. So I decided to reinstall the game and guess what... It worked !
