How the heck do you beat her!?

My party and what I use them for when facing Sendai:

Me - Half elf/human. Use ranged attacks where poss. If not can and do use melee weapons

Minsc - Chases/hurts and kills Sendai from statues (but can't defeat final Sendai who keeps twisting an onyx ring/using sanctuary/heals herself)

Sarevok - As above with Minsc

Jaheira - Summons various creatures to fight drows etc. Also uses True Sight

Aerie - Removes/pierces/breaches magic mainly on Sendai but also summons when poss. Heals/resurrects if necessary

Jan Jansen - Pretty much the same as Aerie + true sight

As mentioned with "Minsc" above I get to (what I assume) is the final Sendai (i.e. after all statues have been killed off) and just can't finish her off. I've tried to use my characters Slayer Change ability and it doesn't seem to last for a minute before he (and therefore the game) is killed and I have to reload.

I know there are walkthroughs but if anyone is feeling charitable, I'd be grateful if they could help based on my party as I've come to quite like (dare I say love?) them all :)
Are you playing a modded game? I don't remember the Sendai fight being so tough (compared to previous fights).

I'm not much of a strategist, but perhaps you could prepare some spells on your mages for doing more damage to her final form. As I remember Sendai has a lot of magic resistance her being drow and all, but there are physical damage alternatives for mages. Tenser's Transformation, Polymorph Self, Shape Change, and summons come into mind. If you have the spell, Summon (Fallen) Deva / (Dark) Planetar are spells that are devastatingly effective in just about any fight.

Also, perhaps you could make sure you have a few Whirlwind attacks saved up for the final fight on your warriors. Few foes can withstand 2 fighters whacking at them with Whirlwind.
The only suggestion I have is that you make sure your party is hasted before you enter Sendai's room. Haste is ridiculously good, and I have won many fights that were otherwise impossible just by casting haste.

I'm playing a modded Throne of Bhaal - don't recall which ones specifically but it seems ridiculously hard.

Good point re Haste. I'll take all advice so far and will persevere.

Thanks fellow GOG'ers
I've got it! Looking at my original post, I ignorantly mentioned it.

If I may quote myself:

"I've tried to use my characters Slayer Change ability and it doesn't seem to last for a minute before he (and therefore the game) is killed and I have to reload "

I don't want to add any further spoilers but anyone who has used this ability will probably be able to establish what the problem is.

Believe it or not, you can actually avoid this "unavoidable" death by using a Protection from Magical Energy spell or scroll (the level 6 blue swirly one). The damage used to kill you is Magical damage, and with 100% magicdamage resistance you can stay as the Slayer at least until the spell's duration runs out. (It may actually last forever after the initial "death," I've never used this to stay alive more than a couple of minutes.) This is actually how the game does it normally, too... when you "End Slayer Change" it doesn't actually stop the kill-damage from occurring, it just gives you a +100% bonus to your magicdamage resistance for a few seconds. That's why you'll hear the magic missile impact sound and your character does the pain animation several seconds after ending the shift properly.
Sendai crushed, looted and a distant memory. Minsc was particularly pleased when I pointed and he punched :)
Hello,

I've done away with all the statues, drows and whatnot, it's only Sendai in her final form that I just can't kill. Weapons are mostly ineffective and those that are not, don't do any damage at all or miss most of the time.

Can somebody specifically name weapons that actually hurt the final form of Sendai?

I've been looking around the internets but nobody mentions what kind of weapons would work here.
