The original version is included with the EE.
Maybe I'm sleepy yet, but....how can I launch the original saga?

I mean...I can't see the launcher to play the originals. And inside the game there's no choice to play otyher version than the EE.

Thx.
Yes. Unfortunatly, they made an unbelievable move and moved Classic versions of Baldur's Gate, BG2 and Icewind dale (only first one) games into Beamdog's horrible EE editions. So now if you want to play classic versions, you have to buy EE editions or you have to ask for a key from someone who bought EE editions but already owned the classics.

You have to redeem the key provided with EE editions.

Account--> Baldur's gate: enhanced edition

More--> Serial Keys

Here you can redeem your key. if it does not work, try going to the redeem page and enter code there.

thank you all so much, so not everything is lost 8).
im not sure that i can fit the ee editions in my life as i want to play the originals first (or probably only). but if they are available, theres light at the end of the tunnel.
thanks again,
g
What an absolutely ridiculous move. I was going to finally pick these classics up during the sale and now I have to buy Beamdog's atrocious insults first? What a bummer. I really don't want to support a developer that radically changes their game based on no feedback for no apparent reason and then leaves the people who bought it in the cold when they ask "why??" and "how do I get this to work?".
Just curious: did they do this on Steam, too? Or only on GOG?

Steam didnt have the originals and still doesnt.
I still can't believe this crap that Beamdog pulled. I see people asking for the original versions both here and at the ID forum and some end up buying the crappy EE versions to play the originals at twice the price and supporting a company which should not be allowed to touch any more classics...

Makes it slightly harder to recommend the classic games, too: "Hey buddy, there's this totally awesome game you have to see! All you have to do is buy a sloppy modern *port* of that game *first*, and then use this redemption code you get with it..."

At the very least, GOG does tend to have *amazing* sales from time to time. If you can snap up the game(s) in question for $10 or less... well, it still sucks that such a dodgy company (Beamdog) gets the profits of it, but it's better than nothing.

I hope they *never* get around to Icewind Dale 2 or Planescape: Torment. They've done enough damage already.

Bless your mouth and keep those fingers crossed, son!
Am I redeeming original saga keys for 10 years? lol

That is the expire date of the code, not the game. That means you can use the provided code until 2026 but once you redeem it, it is yours for life.
