This is the driver version on my Nvidia card. I hope that's the info you need. I'm not very computer savvy as most on the forums.

8.17.12.5896
@wolfen & epmode

Glad i could help. I used this fix ever since i played BG1 on Vista (now on Win7) and it always worked out pretty well. I can even play in 32bit color mode and don't have to enable any of the software rendering options in the graphics menu of the game. :)

Oh and now i remembered to save the instructions in a text file for future use, just in case.... :D

I am using windows 7 (32 bit) with an nvidia 8400 M GT and this fix took 5 mins and worked fine. Many thanks .. now the spell effects and flying creatures are rendered properly.

Freyar: Sometime around 2007, nVidia's drivers screwed up transparencies and shadows for Baldur's Gate and other similar titles. Has this been remedied in this version of Baldur's Gate?
Have you tried installing nVidia's 260.63 beta drivers? They fixed a lot of incompatibilities with older games. I have them installed on my PC and both Baldur's Gate and Planescape Torment are working without any fixes. I don't see any graphical glitches anymore. The only thing is I had to switch on a setting in Planescape because the spites weren't mirroring properly.

Updating to the latest Betas didn't work for me unfortunatly. Just out of interest what graphics card and version of Windows are you running?

That sucks, sorry to hear that. :-(

It worked on both of my systems - my primary system runs Window 7 64bit, with nVidia GeForce 250 GT graphics card. My laptop is Windows Vista Home 32bit, with nVidia 9600M.

I had to revert back to the official release anyway. I have never had a problem with beta drivers before, but ever few mins my display would go pink and then back to normal. Sounds like a monitor problem I know, but tried two different monitors with same issue and when reverted back to stable drivers problem was fixed. Running Win 7 64-bit GTS 460
I'm running windows 7 nvidia GTX480 and the game displays in the upper left corner of the screen. I'm running 1920 x 1080 resolution, (native for my monitor.

Tried the weidu wide screen program and no luck, any ideas anyone?
I forgot to mention, running Windows 7 64 bit.

I have this problem also. If I run the widescreen mod the game displays in the top left corner. If I do not run that, the game is full screen but with issues. One, it moves everything on my desktop as if I had reset my computer's resolution, and two, the mouse goes off of the left hand side of the game to my other monitor even though it is set to run in fullscreen mode. This makes it hard to move the map.

Neither of these problems happen with my disc-based BG1 install or BG1Tutu, but both occur with BG2 bought on Gog.
