Whats the difference between the "EasyTutu" from the first post and the "Baldur's Gate Trilogy-WeiDU" ?

I jsut "downloaded" BG1 and tales from the sword coast. Only I can't find them on my computer. Help.

I assume you've found it already, but if not, the default (for me at least) seems to be GoG.com Downloads in the Documents folder.

I have a problem with the widescreen+GUI mods. My screen is not widescreen, but I definitely want better fonts than the original ones, which are very unpleasant to read when the game is stretched to 1280x1024. So I installed the widescreen mod and then I installed the GUI mod. I selected 1280x800 since you cannot install the GUI mod in 4:3, but now the game wont start because of this. It was expected, but I thought I could just select somewhere to play windowed and then 1280x800 would be perfect. Now, where can I make the game to play windowed without having to enter the game itself (which I cant)?

It's a fan site. It's not officially endorsed by Bioware or GOG, but it's been around for years, and I've never seen any complaints about malware in their files.

Of course, you should check all files you download. Checking the EasyTutu files will, in all likelihood, not yield anything fishy, and given the context, that's more than good enough for me.

Oh, hello, I followed the first post in this guide though only the BG1/EasyTutu bits as it'll be a while before I'll play BG2 and who knows what I'll want then...My thanks for this, very helpful.

FYI there is now a fix for the Beregost issue on the EasyTutu download page (http://www.usoutpost31.com/easytutu/), the downloadlink to the fix is just below the EasyTutu_ToB dl link (it's called EasyTutuHotfixes-20110604.exe).

@MichaelPalin: If you follow this guide you shouldn't be using the GUI mod, but the FontMod_v2.1.zip which is linked near the end of the first post in this topic. I run @ 1280x1024 on Windows XP and these bigger fonts are fine for me (though a bit on the large side). Hope this helps.

Doesn't the new installer (linked to by 1MacReady in post 40) already include the Beregost fix?

I've got no personal experience with it as I'll choose the BGT approach (which, imho, has now more advantages over Tutu, especially for players who want to play both games as one epic story), but I'm pretty sure that 1Macready said he had included the Beregost fix.

Yeah, it does (I checked by following the link). Thanks for the heads up. That version, however, is a beta, not released yet, and as an absolute BG newbie I thought it wiser to use the latest release.

EDIT: A word of warning. When using EasyTutu, do not expect the tutorial to work. I got stuck, and it appears this is to be expected. Macready warns here:http://forums.pocketplane.net/index.php/topic,26414.0.html

If I have BG1, 2 and Tutu installed, do I point the widescreen installation to the BG Tutu folder or the GOG/BG1 folder?

Sorry about the basic question but am a PC gamer noob!

The Tutu folder (assuming Baldur's Gate Tutu is what you wish to play). Note you can delete your BG1 installation after Tutu has been installed, if you need the drive space.

We're all noobs at times, no worries. I find I need to save often so I can experiment without having to start the game over.

If you are running Windows 7 (64bits), the original setup might not work at all (it didn't for me).

Instead of using the old installshield setup, go here and download the new setup and package (you want the ToB-based package BTW).
