Yea, never mind this. Installer was corrupted.

Nimnio: Page 4 is too far down for such a good guide. I wish GoG would be a bit more diligent in stickying the best guides. This and the conservative guide were the best I found.
Yep, agreed. If you sent a message to support about it, that might help. Considering it myself.
I was looking for something just like this. Thanks!
OP can you add that for BG 1 with tutu, the widescreen mod must be installed into your tutu file, not the normal gog>baldurs gate one.

Thanks for the mod suggestions!
I just installed tutu and when i load up BG theres a big black bar covering about a 3rd of my screen. im about to try reinstalling but other than that anyone have any ideas?

rartino: IMPORTANT TO NOTE:
- There is a known issue when entering the city of Beregost. Commit this city name to memory now! And then be sure to follow the instructions under 'Known issues' on http://www.usoutpost31.com/easytutu/ when you encounter this city.
The Beregost bug has been identified by Ascension64, who has provided a fix. If you're using BGT, the fix should be part of the package. If you're using BGTutu, install the Beregost bug fix component of SCS1:
http://www.gibberlings3.net/scs/

Or, if you're feeling clever, just package a weidu executable using the following code:

Excellent guide; much appreciated. Am playing through at the moment and this helped me to set up my game.
BGT & Tutu are amazing projects, but:

BG w/Tutu or as a part of BGT provides a different game experience than standard BG. Certain game functions, spells, abilities, etc. introduced in the sequel are applied to the original during the conversion to the newer version of the engine. For example: kits were not available in BG. This backwards application of gameplay changes is not necessarily a bad thing, but those who have never played BG before should be aware that the conversion offered by these projects is not limited to a graphical upgrade.

I recommend playing at least some of BG in its unaltered form if you would like a more original experience of the game.

Then you can play it again with BGT or Tutu. ;-)

That's more or less what the conservative guide is for.

Does anybody else have trouble with the EasyTutu installer? The extracting stage works fine, but fails when running Setup.exe. The task is running but seems to be doing nothing.

According to Process Monitor, it seems to get stuck trying to create C:\Windows\_delis32.ini.

I've rebooted since I posted last and I still have the same problem.
Hello folks,
Is it necessary to install BG2 to be able to apply these mods to BG1? I have only purchased BG1 right now, but I'm wondering if I'll have to buy the sequel to take advantage of the tutu mod.
Thanks
Awesome guide for setting up this game for newbies to play on modern computers. It was just what I was looking for so thanks for taking the time to write it.

Varlokkur, you will need both BG1 and BG2 to be able to use the increased resolution in BG1. But for $10, it's well worth getting.
i was thinking about downloading BG2, and if i do, then tutu as well. but ive already been playing BG1, so i was wondering if would still be able to import the characters ive already started using if i install tutu, or if ill lose them? i played a lot of BG1 when it first came out, but ive never modded or used cheats or anything so i dont really know how it works. thanks
