Is there a way to use the BG2 version of the NPC portraits with BG1:EE? For example, BG2 Imoen instead of the awful 38-year-old soccer mom BG1 Imoen?

Edit
Holy crap, I asked this almost 2 years ago and totally forgot about it. I just found the other question and answer now so disregard this.

Help! I keep getting killed in BG1. How do I get my character more experience if he keeps getting killed? Also, it is pretty boring to go over the seam area umpteen times!

Literally 8 threads down from this one (at the time of this posting,) there is a thread titled "How to survive" that would probably be a more appropriate place to ask this question than the thread that is clearly titled "Modding BG1 if you buy BG1 + BG2 from GoG."
:)
Hey everyone 2 quick questions,
First are the Mods available for MAC and is there instructions anywhere?
second can these be played multiplayer online like the old LAN games, and can someone using a MAC play with someone playing on a PC?
Just posting to say thanks for the great guide; used twice now since a hardware failure!

Definitely going to backup my BG save this time.....
It worked however the characters are still small and i can't seem to zoom in any ideas?

This would definitely be a noob question:

Trying to mod on linux (Mint 17). Have the basic mods (weidu, fixpack, bgt, tweak, npc banter, unfinished business 1&2), now here's where it gets troublesome.

finally got tolower to run, though it also changed everything above bg2. My Downloads folder is renamed, inaccessable, and I just lost about 70 gigs worth of files. They can be replaced, but it's paranoia-inducing that tolower reached far enough to screw with something like that.

Weidu is extracted into bg2 and a $path, but whenever I use it in terminal it states "ERROR: TP2 file not found". Everything is extracted into the bg2 folder, and I'm (of course) literally looking right at it.

Edit: Yeah, tolower screwed everything. Documents. Picture, Music, Videos, etc. Aaaand my entire desktop just blanked..

Is http://www.gibberlings3.net/ and http://www.spellholdstudios.net/ie/modding down? Is there another site where I can get those mods from?

Yes, they have been down for some days now. Is there another site? No. Be patient, because they regularly go down but eventually resurface.
The title of this thread should be changed to reflect the fact that GOG no longer sells the original Baldur's Gate games.

The original versions are still available, they are just bundled with the Enhanced Editions. So buying the Enhanced gets you the originals as well.
Hi, I just installed BG1 and BG2 from GoG and then followed your guide of what to install in what order. Everything went well and I started BG1 from the EasyTutu folder. The game starts fine and you can create your character as usual. The only trouble is when you get to the first screen where they're showing Candlekeep and the text is scrolling up, there's no voice for the narrator. I also don't get any voice for picking your characters voice and once in the game no one speaks when you click on them such as the tutors or guards or people in the inn. Any idea what's wrong or what I can do to fix it? All the background sounds and music are there. I'm at a loss and any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

PROBLEM SOLVED! After phrasing my problem a different way I found the same problem stated elsewhere here on GoG and the answer too. My Sound Device was set for 5.1 surround-sound on my speakers. By changing it to Stereo the voices and clicks and so on worked! Awesome! Thanks to those who discovered and posted the fix.

Thanks for the guide! Although after 7 years, it should really be updated (Beregost bug is gone etc.)

Just to make sure I understood correctly: The BG2Fixpack core fixes aren't being done because Tutu has the Baldurdash fixes incorporated, right? Think I saw it written in this thread and elsewhere on the net.

Second thing: When installing mods in the Tutu folder, they don't recognize Baldur's Gate 2 or ToB. I reckon that's norma, since I have to play BG2 separately from its own folder, right?

It's confusing because I installed the BG2 fixpack in the Tutu folder and the "Optional but Cool" Fixes worked.
Everything that had to do with ToB from the Unfinished Business mod didn't work in the Tutu folder though, why everything else did. Installing the mod in the BG2 folder and installing the components was okay. Now I'm wondering if I should install all the components in the BG2 folder and what kind of effect they'll have in the Tutu folder?

Widescreen mod: I guess it's normal for the ingame movies to become smaller the higher the resolution is. Should try out a smaller resolution maybe.

You should not install mods in the Tutu folder unless their ReadMe file explicitly states that they are compatible with Tutu. In particular the BG2 Fixpack, including the "Optional but cool" components, is NOT compatible with Tutu.

You should use the " BG1Tutu Fixpack" instead. It can be found at

http://www.pocketplane.net/mambo/index.php?option=content&task=blogcategory&id=143&Itemid=98

among the mod links on the right side of the page. It works with both BG1Tutu and EasyTutu.

For other mods, just check the ReadMe to see whether they work with (Easy)TuTu, BG2, both or neither.
