So My Brother, Me and some friends are trying to play Shadows of Amn together but for some reason my friends can't connect. My brother (on the same router as me) can connect but my friends cannot. Could it be because they are from out of province(state)?? This isn't the first game we haven't been able to play together even after doing the port forwarding thing and it's starting to get a little frustrating. Is anyone able to help?
My Router brand is Actiontec R1000H and Most of us use Windows 7.

Hey!

My roommate and I are trying to play co-op right now and can't get it to work at all. Would you mind telling me what you had to do to connect with your brother? We are of course on the same network/router and none of the typical methods have worked for us so maybe I am missing something simple. We also have an Actiontec router (different model though).

All I did to allow me and him to play was follow the steps on http://portforward.com/ and it allowed us to play :\

Hmm, just a couple questions.

When I set up port forwarding I used the ip address that shows up when I google "what's my ip" - is that the right one to use?

Which ip address do you use when finding the hosted game? (The same one as used in port forwarding or is it different?)

Does it matter who hosts the game?

Multiplayer/co-op in Baldur's Gate is troublesome in newer version of Windows. Try some of the tips here to get you going. And disable UPnP in your router/s.
