LaFey: It worked beautifully - I of course was laid in the northwest part of 2626, so I had to reveal the map and use the Hans() to move to the entry point - but it WORKED. Got to Baldur's Gate and had the Harper Agent talk then Tamoko - however if I try to enter Sorcerous Sundries the game crashes - do you think I can use the same method for deleting the area the re-entering it?

EDIT: It seems I can, yes - and it works fine afterwards! :))

EDIT 2: And it happens again in Elfsong Tavern - but I can't find the code to this one - any place where all the codes are or can I just go ahead and delete every location, except the one I'm on and things will work?
Time to slow down here... The problem is, as I have already explained, the widescreen mod has physically altered every single area in the game, and these get stored into your saved games. If you proceed to remove every area that you re-visit, you may be setting the scene for a completely broken game -- now do you see why I dislike the widescreen mod so much? If you are determined to plow ahead, here is a complete list of area codes for BG1. Be certain to use the 'Original BG Area Codes', the ones on the left-hand side. Proceed with caution!
Thank you so much! From what I've seen so far I only needed replacement on the Flaming Fist 2nd floor (Ill Duke Eltan scene) - everything else is working fine.

Cool. Once bitten, twice shy on that widescreen mod, eh? :)
For sure! Any mod recommendations for Shadows of Amn? Or should I just go plain vanilla?

If it's your first playthrough, then go vanilla... absolutely. You can never, ever get back that first experience and impression. Only think about mods for future play-throughs. As for which mods, I am of the school of thought that says mods should be experienced first hand -- what I, (or anybody else), likes you may hate. I am forever poo-poo'ing the idea of 'must have' or 'essential' mods. There is absolutely no such thing. My advice is to browse through the popular mod sites and download any that catch your eye. There's only one way to find out if you like them or not.

Like I said I own the original and back in the day I played it until I had to choose to affiliate myself with either a thieves guild or a vampire guild. Don't know if it's too far through or not.

On a side note the biggest problem I had so far in BG1 was the Iron Throne headquarters - I had to delete it and every floor and thus besides Sarevok consort I had the envoys fight again. Not wanting to get XP for the fight again I spawned a friendly Drizzt and he managed to make piecemeal of them and I still got to fight the sorceress on my own...

Choosing to ally your character with a guild is a very early point, so you didn't get far.

Hmmm, you know it would have been much easier to CTRL+Y those unwanted envoys -- it's a keyboard shortcut for instant kill, provided you have cheat keys enabled. :-)
