dtgreene: One thing to be aware of: This combination is only possible with dual-classing (or using a save editor). As a dual-class character, there will be a time when your character is functionally a low level mage with extra hit points. During that time, your character will be weak. The longer you wait to dual class, the longer this period will be. For this particular combination, good levels to dual class are 9 (you only have to wait the equivalent of one later mage level to get kensai abilities back) or 13 (extra half attack).

Of note, I believe the kensai bonuses apply to all attacks, so a spell like Melf's Minute Meteors will be even more powerful than it is normally (+3 or +4 per hit adds up when you have 5 attacks per round).
