It's been a good while, but I'm remembering that Jaheira would leave the party on the Pirates' Island or the Underdark if I leave "too early" to rescue Imoen. Has Beamdog fixed this?

There is never a "too early" to rescue Imoen. Never has been, unless Beamdog messed it up. I've never heard of Jaheira leaving because of Imoen. There might be other reasons she leaves, such as Harper related quests, but never Imoen. Every single time I have played BG2 (not EE admittedly) I've always rushed to Imoen as soon as I have the money from ridding Nalia's stronghold of the trolls quest.

I would guess Jaheira leaving is just bad timing on her specific quests activating while you're away from Amn, not anything to do with rescuing Imoen.
It'd be really bad timing to have her leave and miss out on three chapters. I didn't mean that she'd leave because of Imoen, but that she could leave due to terrible design and timing on her Harper quest line (meaning if she'll leave outside of Amn, where it'd be impossible to get her back). I've normally put off Xzar's quest to rescue Montaron for this reason, but in my current playthrough I'm doing a few things in Chapter Two where I wanted *some* of her romance before advancing to Chapter Three and beyond. I'm hoping that Beamdog has fixed the problem if it still could happen.

Jaheira's quests give you ample warning about timings. If you messed up, you messed up. Nothing to do with bad quest design.
I just recently played through BG2EE and was romancing Jaheira just fine, but it suddenly stopped. I'm not sure why, as I kept her in the party the whole time, other than her designed exit and rejoining.

I think the EE romance may be a little buggy, not sure.
Did you sleep with the drow or push your reputation too high?

Jaheira's romance can be tricky because she has more specific requirements which aren't always obvious, especially if you've been busy exploring and questing.

One in particular is the requirement of resting in a forest map after the plot reaches a certain point. Without this, the romance can seem to run into a brick wall.

Just one example, but it's one that tripped me up years ago in the classic version of the game.
I was using this Romancing Guide which was perfect but it seems it is no longer free. Weird, I never saw those adds or free trial thing while I was using it.

Thank you. Yes, this seems identical to the website I linked earlier.

Curiosity question, since I'm not familiar with the site: I infer from your phrasing that there are problems with sorcerers.net. What are they?

It's a site that runs adverts from dodgy sources. ALWAYS check your downloads with good antivirus.
