Haven't played for a while, but downloaded the game a couple days ago.
I keep Imoen as pure thief but I notice she can use the Light Crossbow of Speed. But the description says no Thief. I can understand why no thief. Poison bolts, shadow and this Crossbow is quite a combination especially against Mages. But was this changed because it looks like she can use it. But don't remember having used the Crossbow in previous games I've played.

If she can use it, I'll start raising cash to see if she can take out a bandit camp solo.

She doesn't come with a proficiency point in crossbows (missile), so don't expect too much and put a point in there at your first opportunity. She doesn't do well in melee, anyway, with her 9 STR, so no reason to waste a point on shortsword.
