I have installed the game, then the bugfix patch, and last the widescreen mod set at 1280x800. I have the problem with menus in the upper left corner.

However, I cannot figure out how to install the GUI mod. Any help is appreciated?

Should be roughly the same, just extract the files into the install directory and specify a resolution. Only certain ones are supported so be sure to read the documentation.
