I recently downloaded Baldur's Gate 2 from here a few days ago and I've read up that it's recommended to install this fixpack and the widescreen mod. I downloaded the fixpack and went to the installation part and it asked me to install it into the BG2 directory, which I guess I didn't find the right place because it came up with an error on command prompt. Can anyone help me figure out were I need to install the pack so I wont receive an error?
Many Thanks,
Michael.

Firstly, is your computer's operating system 64-bit Vista or Windows 7? If so, then the Fixpack installer probably defaults to the incorrect install path, i.e. C:\Program Files\Baldurs Gate II. The correct default install directory on a 64-bit system will be C:\Program Files (x86)\Baldurs Gate II, so you could check that directory to see if your install is there.

However, to be quite honest, you are better off installing older games to a directory other than Program Files due to how modern OS protect system files. I install all my games to a C:\Games directory that I created myself. I would uninstalling BG2 and then reinstalling into a similar directory to reduce the likelihood of problems.

Also, please make sure that you are using the Fixpack for Baldur's Gate 2 rather than the one called Tutufix which is required for a modded BG1 install.
