Having issues with the second basement level of Durlag's Tower. This is the level where there are alternating locking and unlocking doors.

I've gone into the Sparring room and killed the doppelganger in there. Gone into the bedroom and killed the dop in there as well. Got the three colored stones and dropped them into the inventories of the corresponding colored dummies in the sparring room. But now I'm stuck. The door in the north of the entry area (circular room) won't open. The hidden door in the bedroom wall won't open either.

I've tried everything I can think of:

- removed the colored stones and replaced them. Took them back to where they were in the bedroom and replaced them. Took them out and back into the dummy inventories.
- made sure I picked up and read the four books in the entry room as well as each one in the hidden corridors leading from the statue room to the bedroom and the sparring room.
- tried turning the statues in the statue room.

nothing seems to work. Any ideas what I may be missing?

*edit* Update: I seem to have fixed it. Bloody level seems glitchy as hell. I saved the game and posted this, then got some things done. When I came back and reloaded, the colored stones were no longer in the sparring dummies. They somehow ended up back in the bedroom. So I picked them up and as soon as I picked up the green one, the north door opened. Looks like I can carry on with the level now. What a pain in the backside though.

I also have trouble with this level even after played through it a few years ago. BTW good luck with the Demon Knight.
Thanks. Yeah, I spent some time this morning looking at walkthroughs because I figured I must have missed something and it was driving me crazy. Only thing I saw that was done differently in the gamebanshee walkthrough was they went into the bedroom first.

Demon Knight? Sounds like that will be tough (and fun). I've not completed Durlag's Tower before. When I played TotSC years ago, I never even found the basement! I'm trying not to look at walkthroughs unless I'm well and truly stuck.
This level bugged out for me too, it was so annoying.

And the Demon Knight? Nothing compared to what you have to face afterwards!
This is really wierd, I didn´t even find the stones but managed to finish it anyway. There where no colored stones anywhere on that floor.

I the bedroom there is a table with a couple chairs, two night tables by the bed, and an armoire/closet. The red stone is in the table with the chairs, the orange one is in the night table to the left of the bed, and the green one is in the night table to the right of the bed.

On a side note, on level 4, Durlag's ghost is supposed to lead you to the secret door on the west end of the room where Isanne's ghost is (and unlock it for you as well) after you answer the three riddles of the stone golem. (I had to look this up in a walkthrough when I was again stymied). I couldn't get that to fire no matter what I did. I completed the whole level and no matter how many times I talked to him nor with what character, he just kept repeating his 'you will return' convo. So I again had to use the 'Jump To' cheat to get past that secret door. Luckily, I was able to complete the level that way and defeated the Demon Knight (had to reload once after that sucker fried us all with a single spell).

Oh, you'll have even more fun once you get back to Ulgoth's Beard. *rubs hands together*
Interestingly, I found the big boss in Ulgoth's Beard easier than the welcoming committee when you first arrive back there. May have to do with the fact that all my characters are at max XPs and kitted out with really nice gear, as well as how the battle sets up for each of them. (I think my tactics for the big boss made it much easier than the welcoming committee since I could prepare myself beforehand).

Toughest battle I had in TotSC though, was the bloody chess board. I had to reload that 4 or 5 times, mainly due to the need to keep your party members standing still.

Now heading off to spank Sarevok (just entering the Candlekeep catacombs).

I never really thought the final fight for ToSC was that difficult. Once you found out his secret, he was really easy to kill. The board was the hardest for me too. I just ended up casting fireball like five times, and cloudkill.
ok I have done something really stupid, I forgot to take the dagger from the demon knight at the bottom of the tower after killing him. I found that out when I returned to Ulgoth´s Beard and I have saved over the last save. Is there any way to, either warp to the last floor in the tower or is there a command to get the dagger?
I'd just use the console instead of trying to get back to the tower basement area:

First, open the console by pressing ALT+TAB

Then type in CLUAConsole:CreateItem('DAGG10')

Note, you do need to have the DAGG10 in quotes, as shown above.

Hit Enter and it will be in your first character's inventory.

If the console doesn't work, you may need to enable the cheat console. You can do that in the game's configuration.ini file by adding Cheats=1 under the [Game Options] heading.

I tride the alt+tab but that only makes me toggle the diffrent windows (desktop, game, etc)
When I enterd the cheats function I still can´t get a command window

ACK! Apologies. It's CTRL+TAB, not ALT. Sorry about that.

It worked! Thank you so much!
Don´t like "cheating" but I really want to complete this.

Awesome. Glad you got it working. And that's not cheating, since you did everything you needed to in order to obtain the dagger. Sure you could just walk your party back to the tower and into the basement to get it again, but all that would accomplish is wasting a ton of time for no good reason. Enjoy your game!
