Mad3: Yesterday I have installed BGT.

I never did any modding before and I never had this bug in the original BG1.
I simply downloaded BGT version 1.18 and the BGT tweak pack (11), extracted it to The BG2 folder
and clicked setup.exe

I have BG1 and 2 from gog and no other mods.

Do I need to do something or will it run like this without problems?
And what is a WeiDU?

jjsimp: I think it is just the tutu mod, not the BGT-weidu mod that has the problems. At least, I have had no problems in Beregost in BG1 with the weidu mod.

Have no idea what Weidu is, imagine it's the name of the person or group that created the mod, but unsure what significance it has to them,
WeiDU is name of the programmin 'language' most commonly used to mod the Infinity Engine. I can't remember exactly what it stands for, but part of the acronym comes from the original creators name.

You can find out more info at http://weidu.org

Edit: Stands for Weimer's Dialog Utility (it was originally made to just edit dialog, but then expanded)

auroraparadox: Can I rename a weidu executable from another mod or do I need to grab one from a specific site?
avatar
Hickory: You can rename one from another mod, but you should have Weidu installed anyway. If you have, just copy and rename the weidu.exe file.
I followed the steps and placed the files in my BG1 directory. I ran SETUP-BeregostFix.exe and I'm not sure the fix completed.

I attached a screen of what happened when I ran SETUP-BeregostFix.exe

Is this what I should be seeing?

That's probably because both TuTu & BGT already have the fix applied now.
Have a look in your setup-beregostfix.debug file & see what is says (use notepad)

Your crashing may be unrelated to the old bug.
Have you changed the resolution in the widescreen mod since you stated this game?

All the debug file says is "WeiDU v 23100 Log

C:\Games\GOG.com\Baldur's Gate\SETUP-BeregostFix.exe"

I haven't changed the resolution in the widescreen mod at all. I even deleted my BG 1 install and started over from scratch.

I followed the conservative modders guide and then tried to apply the Bergost crash fix I created.

Sorry disregard my post, I didn't read it properly & thought you were using BGT.

I you're following the conservative modder's guide as posted here on this forum, you're not playing Tutu, least of all the old, unfixed Tutu. So you shouldn't apply this fix at all, there's no need to. You're fixing what isn't broken:

the infamous Beregost has been haunting the Tutu community for years as BG Tutu (that's Tutu, not BG1) was prone to crash when entering or exiting Beregost. Ascension64 finally found out what's wrong and created a fix. As per the current Tutu, the bug is gone and that's why I updated this thread: TUTU DOES NOT SUFFER FROM THE BEREGOST BUG ANYMORE. And BG1 vanilla never did.

If you play Baldur's Gate 1 vanilla and your game crashes, it's completely unrelated to this bug, that only occured in Tutu games (and perhaps, BGT, I don't know, but a fix was created for BGT).

I guess I just added to the confusion by updating this thread instead of eliminating confusion. I feel like a complete fool and should just have let this old thread dead like it should be.

Understood. I'll post again if it occurs with the clean install I made. I will be starting over with a new character anyways.
