Is there any way to turn the auto-save off in Baldur's Gate II? Any option or mod? Thanks in advance!
Did some searching and there doesn't seem to be a way :(
Too bad... disabling this feature would make changing screens faster. Someone should create a mod for this.
Yes, someone should spend days programming a mod so you can save seconds. lol :P

People do mods because of their love for the game and their desire to improve it. If someone agree with me that canceling auto-save is an improvement they will do it. Besides, it takes mere seconds almost every time you change screens, and that IS annoying since it delays the pace of the game. If you don't share this opinion, good for you. I could hack some boots of speed for each character in my party to speed things up, but I dislike cheating.

One of the most compelling improvements of BG:EE for me is the practically instant save/load they claim they have achieved, so if they end up with DRM free option I will buy the game just for that.
What I'm saying here is that I agree with RafCaj that the autosave feature can be annoying enough for someone to bother finding a way to disable it. It is especially frustrating compared with how much faster new games are in that regard, while handling a much bigger amount of data, highlighting the fact that BG is riddled with sloppy programming.
Nah, I was just giving you a hard time RafCaj. LOL. I like the sound of the improved save/load in BG:EE, just further compels me to purchase it.
