I had this happen with a random woman in the very first inn of the game (cannot recall the name) and now it has happened again when I have just entered Beregost.

The woman says "pleased to make your acquaintance" on audio and then proceeds to walk over and crash my game (rather rude if you ask me)

I've screenshotted and attached the suspect in question, does anyone know if this is a common bug or whether something is wrong with my installation or... I don't know!

(In the screenshot you can also see that the chat appears to move, and yet there is nothing to be seen with regards to options/text)

EDIT: I've just tried reloading 4 times and it crashes every time she speaks to me. I just ignored it in the first inn in the game, but now it's just annoying since she initiates a conversation with my PC automatically :/

The fact that you mention this happens when an audio dialog is initialised suggests that it is not a game issue, but an issue with your sound card and/or drivers. The only other thing that I can think of might be corrupt audio files. Have you tried uninstalling, removing any traces of the previous installation (files and folders), and then re-installing?
No it's not the audio dialogue and it's definitely not my drivers.

Sorry if I caused a misunderstanding. The woman says something audibly, and then approaches me. I hear the audio fine but then when she approaches me and starts the 'chat' the chat box at the bottom moves as though text or something has appeared, but nothing happens.

I do have a mod that pauses the game when dialogue starts, so I'm wondering if there is dialogue there but I can't see it? or if it's a bugged npc. I'm guessing it isn't now though...
Then post your weidu.log here.

Have you changed the resolution of the widescreen mod during the lifetime of this save game? If you do, you must convert your saves. Also, ideally, the widescreen and GUI should be installed last in that order.

That was exactly it! I had changed the resolution because originally I set it to my monitors native resolution 1920x1080, and then changed it afterwards so that I could use the GUI mod to 1280x760.

Thanks for the help again, you've been a lifesaver! :)
