If you are talking about BG1 then it's CTRL+TAB for the console. It's CTRL+SPACE in BG2.

Did you put Debug Mode=1 under program options in your baldur.ini ?

Yes, you have to edit your baldur.ini (found in the game folder) with notepad. Find the following entry:

[Program Options]

and add the following to it:

Debug Mode=1

It doesn't matter where you put it, so long as it's in the [Program Options] section. And make sure the game is not running when you do it.

You have to press CTRL and SPACE together. It is no good pressing CTRL and then SPACE, because the game will register those as separate key presses, and the space bar does pause the game.

If you have the game installed in Program Files (x86)......you will have a "Compatibility files" tab in explorer when you view your Baldur's Gate 2 directory.
Clicking on that will show you the copy of baldur.ini in your virtual store.
That is the one the game uses & that is the one you will need to edit.
If you don't have permission to edit it, run notepad as administrator, or move the file to your desktop, edit it there & then move it back.
