New to the game, not seeing Blackguard as an option under either Fighter or Paladin. What am I doing wrong? Note, just bought and downloaded this from Gog...is there a patch or update I need? I tried in both Amn and Throne of Bhaal.

There is no Blackguard class in Baldur's Gate. Fighter kits available (Baldur's Gate 2 only) are Berserker, Wizard Slayer and Kensai.

The Blackguard is only available in the 2012 remake "Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition" and not in GOG's classic version of the Baldur's Gate series.

There have been attempts to mod it in. I don't know how they compare to the EE implementation. Reportedly the second one fails to override becoming a fallen Paladin when reputation falls.
