Hi,

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

I tried searching but failed to find pertinent info. Hopefully someone can help/has experienced this issue.

I'm running a Windows 7 ultimate box with Nvidia Geforce GTX 480, 4gb ram, 32 bit OS.

I had no problems running BG1 with easytutu installed at 1024x768 and finished the game. I imported with no problem into SOA and the game starts fine (single player).

Once I get out of the cell and talk to Minsc, somewhere in that dialogue, the game crashes to desktop. This is the error I found in my logs:

Faulting application name: BGMain.exe, version: 2.5.0.2, time stamp: 0x3b71b6f4
Faulting module name: BGMain.exe, version: 2.5.0.2, time stamp: 0x3b71b6f4
Exception code: 0xc0000005
Fault offset: 0x000e77d4
Faulting process id: 0x10c8
Faulting application start time: 0x01cd8ca2e735dd70
Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\GOG.com\Baldurs Gate II\BGMain.exe
Faulting module path: C:\Program Files\GOG.com\Baldurs Gate II\BGMain.exe
Report Id: e81fda50-f896-11e1-a8cb-0019dbb08584

I tried everything I could think of to fix it. I tried:

Fresh install of SOA/TOB.
Tried not importing the EasyTutu game and just creating a random character.
Tried using the default graphics and resolution with no acceleration/3D stuff
Tried setting compatibility to Windows 98/ME

I can't determine what we be causing the crash, but obviously I can't get very far. Talking to Daheinera doesn't crash it and no amount of messing with the inventory seems to. It crashes at the same point every time with Minsc, when he yells that Dianeira died in the cell.

Hopefully someone can help. I'd like to start playing BGII but I can't think of what else to do.

Thanks for taking the time to help.
Only thing I can suggest is reinstalling it outside of "C:\Program Files" and try again - Win7 is notorious in messing with games installed there.

Also if this is a GOG install, it does NOT need official patches. Otherwise, it might. After that, remember to apply BG2 Fixpack mod. I always recommend using it, there are bugs aplenty need fixing.
